Don't see any conspiracy in what you are saying there. There have been various fishy occurrences involving the how they handled this matter.. seemed as if they were trying to use the generally uninformed public to push the bill through before the issue made too much noise. It was apparent after the first public hearing that it wouldn't work.
And yeah.. pretty much all the same rules as cigs here... public smoking ban, no sale to minors. In NS (not sure on other provs) cigs/etc merchandise must be hidden from shoppers view... havn't seen this in any vape shops yet, but some are covering up glass storefronts so you can't see in. Shops that had sample bars still do, but this will be under discussion in May (due to public smoke ban... possible vape shop exemptions I hope?) Also it's up in the air if the gov will want to put a sin tax on the product (we pay federal/provincial tax on cigs & alchohol, and also a "sin" tax that helps cover the hospital fees that these substances bring.
