Couple questions/suggestions for a newbie

Hey guys i've been a daily smoker for a few years now and i'm on the path to quitting. Not only that but i like the way certain E-Cigs taste.

I used to use Cig2o for about 6 months which was great, but i noticed the quality of cartridges started to decrease; so i ended up getting hooked back on cigarettes.

I could use a couple of suggestions as to what to go with. I bought a disposable Blu Today (Magnificent menthol) and i'm really enjoying it. I was thinking i should buy the premium starter kit online. Are these reliable? Also; I've noticed there are "Better Flavors" (Someone told me) of the liquid that you can drip into the cartridge? I'm a bit confused on that one

Thanks!

You made a good first step by coming to ECF. There are lots of nice folks here who can provide advice and assistance to help you along and find what works best for you.

Think about what you are really trying to accomplish. Do you want something that looks and acts like a cigarette? If so a mini system with automatic batteries like Volt is probably the best thing to try. If you don't mind something that is relatively heavy and needs one hand to operate it, IE can't be used "no hands" like a cigarette, then try an inexpensive variable voltage battery and inexpensive tank system.

I was a one to two pack a day smoker for 50 years and the Volt system has kept me off of tobacco for over six months now and I have no desire to go back. I am a tinkerer by nature, but like the KISS principle when it comes to vaping and Volt makes that very easy. Volt/Smokeless Image uses the 808 thread system. All of their batteries are sealed to prevent damage and regulated to provide consistent performance. If you choose them, I would suggest the 78mm batteries since they have about 50% more capacity than the 65mm, IE they last about 50% longer between charges. They also offer larger batteries, X2 series, mid sized batteries as well and have also recently added a variable voltage model as well. All of their cartomizers, clearomizers and other devices work with either the cig-a-like batteries or the larger batteries. Their customer service and shipping are excellent.

They also sell liquids that match the flavors in their cartomizers that you can use to refill the cartomizers or use in other delivery systems like Nanos, CE3s, clearos or T3s. This can significantly reduce the cost of vaping but does take a little learning to get the technique right with cartomizers.

In the end the solution that works for you is the only "right" solution.

I've "graduated" to large VV/VW models but I use them mainly when sitting around, watching TV or doing something that leaves a hand free to hold and work them. I still rely very heavily on the cig-a-like 78mm batteries for general use during the day when my hands are occupied.

welcome to EFC Previse!
I was a smoker for 25 yrs and been vaping for a month now with out having an analog (cigarette) I started with the blucigs, yes the disposables are good but not as good a s the kit, they take way to long to recharge almost 8 hrs to recharge. i vaped heavy and the battery did not last me more than 3 hrs so i smoked. than went to joyetech 510 something.
like mentioned above from awsum140, I got the ego-c 900 upgraded battery it last me 24 hrs (it has a feature that starts at 3.7 v approx and as the battery dies down valets comes down) but if you use it in normal mode it lasted me up to 36 hrs. I use the other setting, it last me less but has an awesome throat hit. that is what I like about the variable voltage, tons of vapor nice throat hit vary satisfying and no cravings. I have a manual ego-c 900 mAh and also ego-twist 1000mAh and I love them always have 2 ego-c with me different juice going to work and at home ego-twist cranking at 4.0 v that last me all week long (i use this one only at home).
I learned tons from these guys in youtube:
grimmgreen
thesmokenjoey
zeecigs
look at them view the vids. ah also I still have a full bag of 1 pound of tobacco and paper I can roll one at any time, but I am so satisfied WITH THE RIGHT EQUIPMENT THAT I DO NOT NEED TO GO BACK!!! an it taste nasty!!!
good luck and let us know if you need any other help, any one here will be more than happy to support you and help you!

Hi Previse and welcome to ECF.
If you're looking for a cig sized PV the Volt gets my vote- blows the Blu away in terms of performance IMO. Smokeless Image prolly has the best customer service in the industry and has a HUGE and loyal following. Also after receiving your Volt get your freebie:
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-your-freebie-faces-volt-smokeless-image.html
They are 808 threading which means you must use 808 accessories with the Volt. You can also buy blank cartos and fill them with juice yourself- much cheaper and far more juice choices- literally thousands

Here's a 15% discount code SIVOLT50

Best of Luck.

Thanks guys for all of your inputs! I've went ahead and ordered a premium100 starter kit from blu, along with 4 packs of magnificent menthol flavors with high nicotine.

I wanna start here so that i have something i can take on the go, but i do have a few questions..

1) Is there a way for me to make custom flavors/using my own "E cig juice" to make my own carts? The mintier/mentholier the better!
2) Are there pre-made carts for blu that are better than their magnificent menthol?

Thanks everyone for the welcome!

As far as Blu "Magnificent Menthol" I can't answer that, don't like menthol and don't use Blu.

Yes, you can mix your own favors of liquids. It is relatively easy to do and relatively safe to do. You will be working with nicotine, if you do mix your own, and that is a potentially poisonous substance. There are plenty of suppliers for nicotine, propylene glycol, vegetable glycerin a flavor concentrates. There are numerous calculators, spreadsheet based, to figure out how much of each to use. The big problem is figuring out what to use to get the flavor you want. Here's a URL for the DIY forum here on ECF - DIY E-Liquid

I would suggest lots of reading before you make the plunge into DIY and maybe get settled on a battery system and delivery system first.
