Crackle when I vape

I just purchased an itaste vv and a mini protank 3. I have my voltage set at 3.9 and every time I vape it crackles. I have made sure the tank is full and I get a good cloud when taking a long slow pull though. Is this normal?

Noob mistake. Anyway day three no analogs and no craving after almost 20 years smoking coffin nails. [emoji3]

I kind of like that sound, like bacon sizzling in the pan. It's your juice heating up in the coil and is normal. Try a couple of dry puffs (not pushing the fire button) to fill the atty with more juice to eliminate the crackle.

Who wants to eliminate the crackle anyway? Its a sign of a new, healthy coil... When mine stop crackling I know its time to clean and rebuild. Its called flash boiling atomization.

I now see how easy this can turn from way to quite cigs to a hobby to an obsession. My coworker put it best. "you like gadgets you like nicotine and this is just a gadget that gives you nicotine, what's not to like"

- chemistry (flavors, bases, mixes)
- jewelry (polishing, treating, buying mods)
- electrical (resistance, amps, watts, etc)

What's not to like?

Actually the crackling (explosive atomization) can be really explosive. Today I was showing my gear to a Co worker so I disassembled my backup kf mini to show him the internals... Removed the chimney, put a few drops on the coil and fired it up at 11w... I was expecting the normal crackle and seeing the liquid vaporizing (looks cool) but instead I got one hell of a boom. Sounded like a firecracker going off lol. My colleague jumped back and almost wet himself... Not sure if he's going to switch to vaping now lol.
Anyway, the crackle can be VERY violent, especially with an exposed coil.
