Crackling coil

Hi fellow builders, just a quick question.... built a 0.9 ohm coil from kanthal, trouble is its crackling too loud!! On my other build I have a 1.1 ohm build from kanthal, no crackling at all....
Now I'm not sure if it is wick related or maybe juice related? It's not as bad if I drip on it, but I like to squonk.... any ideas please.

Probably wick related with the coil getting a bit too "wet". You can turn up the power just a tad to help vaporize off the excess.
