Get a gizmo and you'll be wrapping perfect tensioned coils in no time. I like flavor, and what tastes best for me is 8 wraps of 28g with 3.25mm ID and wicked with Cellucotton rayon. Used a short 2mm rod inserted in unused air hole on the deck, and since the air holes are 2mm (on mine anyway), no longer need the air-flow control ring. Beautiful!

I pretty much stick with 26 gauge wire. So I can't really say on the wire wraps. As far as the Magma goes the only thing that I could really find that vaped well on it imo is a single parallel coil. It hits hot and dense if that is what you are looking for. It'll give nice dense vapor full of flavor. I don't like to use dual coils on it because one you lose that huge juice well the Magma has and two I couldn't get enough airflow even with the ring off for dual coils imo. I run mine wide open on the largest holes on the AFC ring even with a single parallel coil. Another thing is when you build it you can control the flavor and throat hit this thing kicks out with your coil placement. You want the coil right over the hole in the deck of course. If you lower the coil to the deck as close as you can get it your flavor is going to come through better. Your throat hit is also going to increase as you get closer to the hole in the deck. Also when you wick the magma just put enough cotton in it to reach the bottom of the well from your coil. The build I'm using is .4 ohms and I run it anywhere 32-45w. Be forewarned though it will suck juice with this build, but the flavor really shines. Again really dense vapor (not a lot just thick white vapor), warm, and full of flavor. I was really upset I bought this atty when I first got it. The vapor was whispy and flavorless on a single coil at 1.2 ohm. Any sub ohm build tasted burnt with okay vapor production for me. I'm not saying those builds wouldn't be for you, because hey who knows you might like a different vape than me. But I bought the Magma because I was told it was a warmer and flavorful vape. They only way I could really get it to do right or perform as advertised to me was a single parallel coil close to the deck.

I've had the Magma for about a month now and the flavor i get out of this thing is incredible. I've tried quite a few coil builds on it already and im still experimenting. Currently im running 27awg duels on a 14 gauge (2.10mm) blunt needle, 8 wraps I believe which comes out as .5 ohms. This has been the best build for my liking so far. I also really liked 28awg, 2.10 ID, 7-8 wraps at .55 ohms. I haven't tried single coil build on it yet. 24awg & 26awg builds were just to hot for me. Kayfun plus v2 has been my go to for months and I haven't touched it much since using the magma. The deep well is a big plus where i don't have to constantly re-drip. Check out Steam Engine to calculate wraps and ID needed to reach the resistance your wanting. Steam Engine | free vaping calculators

Maximizing the experience with the Magma ALL depends on what device you're using it on :) You can sub ohm on many devices but you can't always safely sub ohm on any battery. That being said, use the above calculator link for steam engine, they give you a good idea about how many wraps to start with. However, safety wise, NEVER FIRE ANY COIL until you verify its resistance is what you want/can handle.
