Admittedly, I got my batteries from fasttech and didn't pay much, so I probably shouldn't expect much.

My first two 650 egos are stripped- my fault mostly(one is still usable, the other one did weird stuff and it died). Cross-threaded one on a bad cart, and since I was new I kept changing flavors and toppers constantly. The third one, a 1300mah fat batt, just stripped on me, so only a few of my CE4s will catch and hold. I can still get it to screw on to the charger with a bit of fiddling, and Evods work just fine.

I've switched to using Evods most of the time to save the 510 threads and because they work even though the 510 threads are stripped, plus I'm really liking the bottom coil lack of twirling. The CE4s I have will likely be my last, but I do like Vivi Novas for capacity, which of course are 510 threads.

I have one of those nifty ego-510 adapters, and I'd like to put it on the 1300 battery, but it's not catching well enough to hold securely. What's the best "glue" to hold it in place- preferably an adhesive that doesn't set up hard in seconds?

Is this a common problem? Should I just get adapters for all batteries to save the original threads? Is there another solution?

That's the reason I only like to buy stainless steel mods with stainless steel connectors. I've had too many connectors strip out on me to go any other direction. You can add an adapter to protect the connector threads, but just drop the mod and that whole thing can still strip out the connector threads.

Second best option is to try to make your device sit down solid on the top of the battery. Gives you a little more shoulder, and minimize as much as possible the mechanical leverage against the threads. Ego threaded devices using the larger threads will help.

Same advice as always -
Check fit of devices - Some have horribly undersized threads
ALWAYS snug to contact and STOP

They are all Chinese made batteries with pretty much the same quality threads and the good ones only out last the crappy ones due to the way they are used.

Lighten your tighten and things should work better.:)

I disagree with this. My 2 genuine Joyetech ego-c batterys have considerably more solid and durable threads than my 2 fasttech ones. The difference is obvious when you have them side by side.

Does that mean I have never had to pull the post on my Joyetech? no. I have had to do it ONCE. Lesson learned and never again. My fasttech egos are a constant fiddle.

Trying to explain thread failure and you Panic. Joyetech is above average - there are dozens of other battery makers and most, once again ARE ABOUT the same.
No hostility needed. care in use helps things to last.
My 2 non-Ego 1100mah have been around since week 2 of my so far 1 yr adventure. They are also still pristine.:)

I have been much more careful with my latest batteries, including the 1300 with the stripped threads. I stop at snug and no longer change clearos constantly. Can you share your care/cleaning tips please? I usually just wipe mine off with a tissue or q-tip. Should I be doing more?

Main things:
Light tight
Q-tip is your friend used as needed
Use rubbing alcohol on a q-tip to saturate and clean pin area and threads< this removes liquid from under the pin
Always wipe contacts before charging - battery and charger
Charge when not in use rather than waiting for full discharge. Batteries usually last longer if not continually depleted.
Turn off when not in use. The controller processor always draws some power.

If using tanks acquire a proper tank support adapter to assist threads and stop destructive wobble.
Tank supports get a big thumbs up!

But that is just my idea on care.:)

Panic? Hardly that.

Trying to correct misinformation that they are all the same yep in a fast second.

No problem, but please realize you seem to be presuming pretty much the same is saying EXACTLY. Not at all. While genuine Egos are better, they are not vastly better nor the absolute best and it still leaves the Mass majority as a base line for comparison and usage.

I am convinced my unbranded 650mah all SS ego knock off with puff counter is as good if not better built. None the less care is given to keep it that way.
This is not to slight Joyetech - I love using my eVics
