Crazy harsh nic. Help please!

hey guys. I've searched the forum plenty, but haven't really found a good answer for my problem. I ordered 100mg nic in pg from rts for my diy. When I mixed it at 3mg (.9ml per 30ml), it was unbearably harsh. I couldn't even vape it. I contacted rts thinking they gave me a messed up batch, so they sent out a new bottle. Same thing. I buy 3mg liquid from the local vape shop, and it's completely different. Sure I can feel a little throat hit in theirs, but mine is like being hit by a freight train. It seems like the only way I can make liquid with this which I can vape is at 1mg (.3ml per 30ml)... I had a friend who vapes 6mg liquid try the 3mg I made, and even he coughed up a storm... Refusing to even try it again... Am I doing something wrong? How do I fix this issue? Advice would be greatly appreciated

What's your PG to VG ratio? PG provides throat hit too.

Sorry to hear you are having to same issues I had with RTS Nic. When I bought my 1st bottle, it was delivered with a cracked lid but was very harsh ( 100 mg/ml). I called them up and told them about the cracked lid so they sent me another replacement bottle. Same results. I personally do not want throat hit if I can help it, so I switched to Nude Nic and been loving life ever since. Hope you find what you want!

I was considering ordering nic from NN also after reading reviews. I'm just confused because a lot of people here seem to like RTS nic... I'm glad that I'm not the only one to have had this issue with RTS nic (although it's unfortunate also xD). I'm just curious to whether I'm doing something wrong... PilotNY, few questions if you don't mind; do you feel like NN satisfies your nicotine craving? What nic strength are your mixes? Do you still get a little throat hit with NN nic? I'd like a little throat hit as there should be at 3mg... But not unbearable like the 3mg mixes I've made with RTS nic..

JMHO but anyone who DIYs should have a nicotine test kit in their arsenal.

I always test what I receive. That way, I can start narrowing down what the problem is, if any.

OTOH, some nic base does give more TH and some people like that. But I like to make sure my nic levels are correct when I receive it.

FWIW, I've used RTS with no problem, so not sure what is going on.

I totally agree. I will invest in some nic test kits. I find it odd that some have the same issue as myself, and others seem to be fine with RTS nic. Out of curiosity, were you also using 100mg pg RTS nic?

1) NN is an excellent Nic IMHO. Absolutely satisfies.
2) I buy the 100 mg/ml from NN and my mixes range in percentage. My personal mix is at 3% but go up to 12% for some of my friends.
3) Very very little TH.

I have NIC from RTS that's in my freezer for about a year and I recently tried it and it was not harsh. I've herd from others that lately there NIC has been harsh so maybe they changed there supplier or there supplier changed to a different type of NIC. I've also herd very good things about nn NIC but never tried it myself. You may want to test your base though before deciding it's the NIC. Vape just your PG alone then your VG alone if neither is harsh then mix your base and try that without flavoring. This will help you narrow it down to either the PG,VG or NIC. I have read a few complaints about bad PG and VG expecially those bought at department or drug stores, so rule those out before buying new NIC. IF the plain base is good then look at one or more of the flavorings as the issue.

Thanks for your response. I've gone through an elimination process already; testing my vg, pg, and flavors. Pretty much all the mixes I've made don't rly have any throat hit without the nicotine added. The only 2 that have had a noticeable throat hit were made with flavors which have ethyl alcohol in them. Once The nic is in any mix of mine at anything over 1-1.5mg, it's killer harsh. It's gotta be the nicotine /:
