We should not ignore hazards at all, but we should pay more attention to the hazards of smoking rather than scrutinizing vaping.

A hazard is a hazard regardless of the source. People get sentimental about vaping. It's just a habit, not your favorite football team.

Just started looking into DIY. I was reading the safety warnings. I knew that diacetyl may not be safe, but also saw the mention of cream flavors being an issue. I've only tried Flavorz by Joe premade so far, but one is Papa Smurf and it's described as creamy. Would this have the cream flavor that might be an issue? How would I find out. It might be in some flavors that don't have a description of everything in it.

I'm a bit daunted by DIY, but if it's another way to control exactly what we vape then that's another positive in addition to the savings.

I've only tried Flavorz by Joe and some from a local store that makes their own. The Flavorz stuff was much better than the stores and they use Flavor West flavoring, which they said Mt. Baker does as well? I didn't do an extensive test and I was using a Clearo in the store compared to my preferred carto, so that might have been part of the problem, but I guess I'm wondering if making DIY at home can get me the quality of the stuff by Joe and also what flavors would I buy to get something better than Flavor West?

Maybe they are good, but I can only go by my experience and would rather start with something with a higher chance of meeting my preferences.

(1)DIY is actually pretty easy - I've had 2 juices out of 20 that were toss-outs, and those were me trying to overreach by a LOT lol.

(2)Flavor West is officially on my .... list for lying about... you guessed it: diacetyl in their flavors.

(3)The Flavor Apprentice, certain LorAnn, Capellas, Flavor Art are all used quite extensively by most people here

(4)Basically everything that tastes a little buttery or custardy is suspect -- not that you can't vape em, but that you should use small percentages and not do it too much

(5)Toss those cartos and join the REAL vapers in RDA Mech land
:D
(but actually, for making flavors you WANT a dripper, so you can taste/sample/test a bunch without too much hassel)

But most of us don't smoke anymore
:?:

I for one want my lungs back to what they were before I got addicted to smokes and .... on them for two decades.

+20

When their requested extension once again expires without action, it is time to meet with Federal Prosecutors and/or California's Attorney General.

I trust others are likewise collecting and preserving submissible evidence. Could someone order a few of their "delicious" flavors, leaving them sealed as received from the post office? And it's likely time to exchange a few email addresses.

I can probably arrange meeting with federal prosecutor's office in Cali. Anyone have connection for the CA AG's office?

I get a buttery taste from Hangsen Vanilla when it is initially mixed. Should that be a concern? The buttery taste usually goes away in ten days.

I vape my unflavored DIY nic base about 50% of time, mainly because it's pretty good unflavored. The other half of the time I'm using flavors that mostly don't contain the troublesome ingredients, but lately I've noticed that a few probably do. Thanks to threads like this I am learning and becoming more aware:)
