I have ordered numerous times from fasttech. I have never heard of an issue like this. I have read in the FT forum that there is a mirror webpage set up that is a scam. Are you certain you went to the proper site?
thats my thinking, i just received my order from them, they state on their website they do not retain or save any cc info so why would they want a pic of cc

The problem with credit card fraud is you never know where the compromise occurred. The compromise could occur months ago at a restaurant and the information is just now being sold online to those that buy this kind of info. A skimmer in a gas pump or ATM machine can also be used to steal information.

Trying to pin down the source of the compromise is virtually impossible, and pointing fingers at possible suspected companies does nothing more than fuel unwarranted speculation.

I read where fastech was requesting cc's because paypal had been alerted by several authentic manufacturers about clones of their models and the sku # would show up. That's why some orders go thru with paypal others don't. Not sure why they want a pic thou.
I know it's almost impossible to find out where a breach occured but I hadn't used that card inforever until several weeks ago with that handful of vendors. Thought i had my best shot finding out what happened esp. if someone else has had problems.
I had my card voided and now have to have a new one sent to me overseas. Good thing i can transfer money here thru paypal.

I recently ordered a mod from fasttech and the status of the order is "Full Payment Recieved". I received an email from fasttech saying that I needed to take a picture of my credit card and send it to their email. I have ordered from fasttech multiple times and never once have I had this happen. I responded I would not be able to do that because I thought it was a scam. They assured me that it is a requirement to make sure that the order was not fraud. Anyone else have this happen to them?

Not on any of my fast tech orders or from any other vaping company or any company.

Just the name , number , expiry date and that 3 digit number on the back.

Last ordered from fast tech 2 weeks ago.

It is not a mirror site, it is the same website I have been ordering from for 3 months. it is not a email scam because the emails that are sent to you are saved on Fasttech under Your Account >> Support >> Tickets and I can view the exact same messages which talked about sending a picture of my credit card. Lydia the staff member I was contacting, is a verified staff member.

Yea...... With literally thousands of orders a day and a forum full of people talking about every experience with FT(their forum) You would think a pattern would appear if this was a common FT practice.

You Need to sort this out with your CC company. You have obviously been Red Flagged for some Reason even if through no fault of your own.

This thread is turning into a round robin joke.

the high tier cards have all kinds of protection. plus if you have assets look at lifelock. the card I use has a different card number to use for online purchases. I realize not everyone is eligible. still cards for ok credit score should have zero fraud. the only problem it is often too touchy. many times the card stops my own purchases. however it is much better that they decline than you need a claim.

Honestly, I would not immediately blame the vendor, it could be a compromise at the processing company, on YOUR computer, or some pimply-faced kid that got lucky with a number generator.

of all the things ive read about ft ive never seen them ask for that

Yup, sounds more like a phishing scam to me. Like those emails that go to my spam box about accounts that I don't even have.

This was bugging me, so I did a bit of digging. I found this about Fasttech asking for a CC picture.

What Fasttech apparently wrote in that instance is:

1. Take a picture of the front of your credit card using your phone, camera, or a scanner. For your security please do NOT take a picture of the back of the card, where your signature and your CVV number are located.
2. Login to our support site: support.fasttech.com/ticketz
3. Under open tickets, click on the ticket number of this ticket.
Scroll down to the reply > upload attachments section, and upload the picture you have just taken.

#3 would be a secure transmission of the picture if the URL is secure, HTTPS.

So, are they really asking you to email them now or is it really an upload?

I might send someone a pic of my credit card, IF I first blacked-out the first 3 sets of numbers. No way would I send a pic of the whole number to anyone for any reason.

I hear ya Andria, but in this case Fasttech already have the number and identifying info to go with it. They just seem to want to make sure the person really has the card. I don't consider that more of a risk than just giving them the card info, as long as sending a picture to them is secure like the first card data exchange was. I would not do it via email.

If the data transfer is secure, IMO there is no more risk involved as them having your CC data in the first place. I use Paypal, or in Canada direct bank transfer, every time I can so the least number of people have that info.

i stand corrected but my 1st and only order pp was not an accepted payment option, maybe because of the bvc coils?

Correct. I can only assume Aspire or a Vender reported to ebay/paypal to protect Retail sales and Block wholesalers.
Not that it has stopped Ebay sales.

Also been doing some digging and there are many manufacturers complaining to PayPal concerning IP being compromised by fasttech and other Chinese sites so if you order anything cloneish you may have problems paying with PayPal from the popular China sites. From what I can gather this happens quite often and calms down quite quickly causing temporary problems hope the inconvenience for members is minimal and short lasting.
