Just an FYI, I received a charge on my credit card this morning from 'TLG COMPHME' for $14.99 Not a big amount, hardly noticeable...except I have email alerts set up every time my card is hit, so I researched it immediately. If you google this company, it is big time cc fraud. They hit you for small amounts at first, then if it goes unchallenged, they hit you again. Just a head's up for those of you using a credit card for your online charges. I'm not going to speculate on any vendors, etc...but I can tell you this card has only been used to purchase e-cig supplies. The moral of the story....keep an eye on your cc statements.

Sorry, was at work... They haven't yet been able to trace it. I couldn't how many hits there were on this company when I googled it though. Man.... JoeD4, I have not ordered from either of those vendors. It doesn't give me a warm fuzzy feeling that's for sure. I am going to start using shop Safe through Bank Of America. It will allow me to generate a temp cc # to make an online purchase, etc. I wish more of these vendors accepted PayPal...

Paypal will no longer allow payment for Ecigarettes. My first two purchases were through Paypal and came though okay, but the second company sent me an email that Paypal had closed their account until they quit selling Ecig and Vapor products.

Thank you for the heads up !!!

I just want to mention that this probably has nothing to do with the people you bought from. This happens when a companies server is hacked by the fruadulent company. So as for the two companies mentioned in this thread....please write to them and let them know!!!!

Here and back
I don't get it. I accept credit cards in my business and had to go through hell to be approved. I can't afford any missteps or I'll lose my privileges with PPI. How can this company have complaints for years and not had their privileges revoked??? Am I an innocent and not understanding something here?

I had a similar problem at work. I used the owners credit card to buy him a flash drive from buy.com and then started getting charged $15/mo. from "TLG Everyday" Its a shady operation that profits or better yet steals from those who don't pay attention to their statements. I can't believe they are still getting away with it.

Could be the business got hacked but in most cases you have someone skimming card numbers this happens in restaurants sometimes. Once stolen your number goes on some shadow market for compromised numbers. The people using the number then may be like twice removed from the original point of sale.

Email alerts are great for tracking all purchases I have my thresholds for email set to lowest possible amount. Another reason I prefer credit cards over debit. Filing a claim through your bank about fraud on cc is their money. Imagine your bank account being drained then ISF charges racking up. Then you need to go through claim process with bank about your money while incoming recurring payments or due payments are continually bouncing.

Most lenders CC's nowadays have zero liability on fraud. And I believe the law states you are at most liable for like 50 bucks on fraud I forget the exact amount. Had one incident similar to OP's about 8 years ago on debit card. Was last time I ever used debit.

OK...
So I have bought quite a lot of ecig stuff in the last week...couple of hundred bucks worth of hardware and juice...
I am and have been very vigilant in my CC security...being an IT guy, I know how easy it can be to steal numbers and such...
I have never had any issues and usually buy from the big boys (Amazon and the like), have a Paypal acct for ebay and pay bills, but that is about it for this card, until the ecigs.
I get a email today thanking me for the Buy.com purchase...wait a minute, I didn't buy anything from Buy.com.
I log into my account, and see a Unlocked 3GS iPhone ordered!
My billing address is correct and the iPhone is being shipped to a Houston address...over $900.
I was able to cancel the order. I had to cancel my card.
Totally sucked.
The only thing I have done differently is buy ecig merch...
I have bought from SEVERAL different ecig sites and all are ones I got from this board, so I cannot determine what merchant was the culprit...But the only way they could have gotten my billing address was a recent order as I moved a couple of months ago.

But it makes me wary...
Watch out, Watch your activity...be careful.
I am not going to quit buying ecig stuff...perhaps just be a little more careful with whom I order it from.

Just a FYI for everyone out there!

This is even better. I used to get a monthly charge for $1.99. I'd call up and dispute it. The CC fraud department said they would take it off no problem but the amount was too small for them to pursue it and no, they didn't have any way to just block charges from that particular company. They said I could call any time and have any of those charges reversed in the past no problem. So this bugged me. Turns out the only solution was to have them issue a new card with a new number.... doh.

Here's what I use for online purchases. Citibank has a "virtual" card service. Comes with any CC card from them I think. You set yourself up for online access to your account like everything else and they have a virtual credit card program/feature. You can access it directly through their website or you can install the application on your PC. It's pretty slick. It pops up whenever there's a CC form to fill out in the browser. You sign in and click on "generate virtual card number". It generates a CC number with a CVC and an expiration date of next month. So now the number you used is only at risk for a month. That doesn't eliminate the chance for fraud but it greatly reduces your exposure. Otherwise your number is out there on various servers, small company's records and who knows where forever. You can use any previously generated number that hasn't expired or you can use a new number for every single purchase. Nice thing about that is you can go back and see the charges against any number. If one of your numbers is compromised (within the month it's valid) you would know exactly which merchant that number was used for. All charges you make with virtual numbers show on your monthly bill exactly as if you had used your real card (you have to use the feature/application to see the virtual numbers and charges against them). I think some other CC cards have a similar feature.

OK … now you have my attention. I too just ordered a bunch of eCig stuff from suppliers linked from this forum as well.

I originally set-up accounts at 2 vendors in China but due to strange difficulties completing payment, I aborted the transaction and purchased domestically instead. (spending twice as much)

I will be watching carefully for any suspicious activity on my account. I agree we need to compare notes and get to the bottom of this issue

I ordered from two Chinese vendors touted here often. Both used paypal though so they don't have access to my bank or cc numbers.

I do NOT want in any way to condemn any supplier on this board.
I am just saying that I am very careful where I input my card online and the ecig merch was the only thing I have done in the past month that was unusual.
With some of the vendors, they are very, very well known on this board, so I don't think it was them, others...not so much.
So again, I am NOT saying that this fraud was from any of them..
Could be just a coincidence, but it is good for all of us to be aware...:)

If this helps, my bogus iPhone order was being shipped to a Houston Address...even looked it up on Google Maps. Nice suburban neighborhood.

PM me if you have had any activity like this and we can compare notes...
