I've come to realize over the past couple of weeks that e-cigs alone aren't doing it for me. I was talking about this very thing in a thread a couple of days ago, and it seems I'm not alone. I have really been toughing it out since I stopped smoking and starting vaping on New Year's Eve - it's been a very hard road for me. I've upped my nic levels to the max amount, I've purchased and been using HV PV's, and I still have that incurable desire for something else ( of course a real smoke ). During that thread, I had not one, but two good folks here, suggest reading a little in the smokeless section. I did and the more I read the more I realized there are a boatload of folks just like me. I had bought a tin of the Camel Snus a while back, tried it - thought it tasted like a candy mint, but did nothing for the nic craving - I mean nothing at all and immediately wrote it off as something that wouldn't do me any good. However, in the smokeless section, I was told that the Camel and Marlboro brand snus that's being marketed here is more or less a joke as far as satisfying the nicotine urges. The Swedish snus is in an entirely different league and can't be compared to the two offered here. I read more - went to several Swedish snus sites and there are stories one after another saying the same thing. Long story short, I placed an order for the Swedish snus and hopefully it will be here today or tomorrow at the latest. I'm really hoping it helps. I honestly think it's gonna be the thing to supplement vaping that will help me forget about cigarettes all together. I have no plans of stopping vaping. I'm only looking for some additional help kicking the habit. If you haven't read or checked into it, it might be worth your time -- the section is here on ECF ( smokeless ).
By the way, I have never dipped, chewed, or anything else other than smoke, so this is entirely new to me as well.

Hang in there - it's gotta get better and tomorrow is a brand new day !
My first 3 month I was vaping and smoking untill I made the final change , but we have a day if we can not bypassed the friend in here always help.

Liscab, I feel ya... been there, done that. There is something missing for me in just vaping. It was driving me crazy until I found snus, and if I remember to use it, it works!! Many others on the forum have this same issue and rather than turning to smoking they've gone to supplementing with snus. Nothing to be afraid of with snus (no spitting or any granules in the teeth to see, it is pretty much invisible and is in a neat small packet that is a teabag like material).

I still struggle (even after 10 months) if I'm vaping alone... snus helps to fix it and take away the cravings. Really... I tell everyone it can give you a 'happy back' when you use it. I use 2-4 a day.

I went with free samples first to try it out. Here are some links if you or anyone else is interested.

General: General ® Snus | The Original Swedish Snus ™ by Swedish Match ©
Swedish Match, the largest snus manufacturer and distributor on planet Earth, is currently offering free samples by mail to all those of appropriate age wishing them. You will receive 3 portions each of General Original Snus, General Mini Mint, General Wintergreen, and General White Portion Snus. Get past the age verification page, and click free samples.

GetSnus: Why snus? - GetSnus.com Click on the banner at the top of the page. $1 to ship. I also bought some of the sampler packs, so it was a cheap way to get the freebie (a whole can of General Wintergreen or sampler like above so go for the Wintergreen is better... good stuff.). I bought a can of the General White Mini Mint from them since I had to pay $1 anyway. It is perfect for a beginner and is my favorite. Here is the link for it.

They also have small sample packs to buy (but don't as you can get them free... just get the wintergreen free can... great flavor, one of my favs!)

Discreet (Best American made and terrific flavors. No salt taste in these (like the Snus from Sweden) and good flavors such as Peach, Strawberry, Emerald Ice and Mint) He'll send you 8 packs free, just fill out the info and say you saw it on the snuson.com forum or here where it asks how you heard about it. Take them to a tobacco shop to show the owners to carry it is all he asks you to do:

liscab and proimage,

many thoughts are here are on this thread.
snus may be the answer, as I see one member intheir sig line about vaping,
snus to handle the cravings and another product.

give it all a try, hopetully you satisfy the cravings and beat the analog crap.

Another twisted sense, the chemicals that are added to analogs, could just be what
the withdrawal is about.
Who knows how long that would take to go away.

You know, I've always thought there was a lot more to hooking you on cigarettes than the nicotine alone. There just has to be. I know I should be able to handle with the e-cigs by themselves, because a ton of people here are doing just that. Who knows why some struggle more than others. Could be just more of an addictive personality trait, which I'm thinking that people like me have. I plan on continuing to vape - I enjoy it. I hope the snus is just the supplement to vaping that helps me get past that brick wall associated with cigarettes ( analogs ). After reading for hours about snus and the hundreds of years they've been using it in Sweden. There hasn't been one single documented case of any type of cancer associated with Swedish snus and it's endorsed by their FDA - have no idea where American snus fits in - but I bet they've gone down or are going down the same road as they have with regular cigarettes - Anyway, using the Swedish snus I can't see where it could hurt much - ( At least compared to the dangers with cigarettes ). When I first thought about it - all I was thinking was chewing tobacco, skoal, dipping, and all that. I wasn't interested at all in going down that road. Snus is nothing like that - it's self contained - you don't spit or any of that. In fact, I've had a pouch of the Camel snus in my mouth pretty much non stop for the past two days waiting for the order I placed to get here, and my wife nor my kids even have a clue that I'm using it and you know how in tune your family is to what you're doing.

At any rate - just thought I'd mention this option - my not be for you - heck, it may not be for me either - the order I placed with getsnus.com comes to a whopping $18.45 including priority mail shipping and that gets me a boatload of snus - at least a few weeks worth by my figuring, so even if it isn't for me - the dollars spent aren't gonna break me !

I used to go to those quit groups at our local hospital, and they would tell us that some of the many chemicals the tobacco companies added were there to increase the addictive quality of cigarettes. They never did elaborate on which ones they were,,, but they presented it as a fact in quitting seminars.

Reading this made me think of that,,,,

That doesn't surprise me. I've always thought there had to be more to the incredible addiction to cigarettes other than the nicotine itself. There's a ton of money on the line and it goes way up the ladder in DC - can you imagine the money the federal government would loose if tobacco was ever made criminal - not a chance of that happening. I'm only surprised they haven't legalized some other substances ( we all know what ) to get their greedy little fingers on a ton of that money as well, and I wouldn't be surprised to see that happen in the near future ! Guess we don't need to get into that here though !

If you do a quick google search on ingredients added to cigarettes,
you will find a list that will stun you.

Chemicals out the ying~yang
The BT manuf. didnt even have to release this info until the 80's or 90's
it was during that major sue case of the states against them

If I have time, I will try to find it.
