Here are my 20 odd cents:
It sounds like the bad company might be one of those huge dealers out of China that don't really have anyone you can contact. I avoid those.
My favorites so far are Totally Wicked in the UK and Wizard in the US.
Totally Wicked has stronger flavors at pretty good prices and is one of the only sites that has a comprehensive selection of automatic Titan ecigs. (see my post about auto vs manual ecigs) Totally Wicked also has some great exotic flavors like Lychee, Kiwi, Passion Fruit, and Starfruit. I don't think I've seen starfruit anywhere else. And if you order their nicotine, they supply you with the best simple mixing chart I've seen. Their service is fast and friendly. They have options for PG or VG for all of their flavors, which is not common.
Wizard distributes two of the top flavor producers: The Flavor Apprentice and LoRann, which are both somewhat mild, but quite pure and accurate tasting. They are also reputed to have the best quality nicotine solution. Their service is also very fast and friendly and they have a lot of mixing equipment so you can set up your own mad scientist laboratory, something I've always wanted to have. Their prices are also rock bottom.
The worst flavors I've encountered are from Flavor West. I found the to be way off base, except for one: Prickly Pear, which is an amazingly authentic flavor that somehow adds a bit of punch to most fruit e-liquids. I can't get enough of it.
I feel I should mention favorite premixed flavors as long as I'm sharing my best and worst:
Clean Smoke, in Sarasota, FL, has fabulous, clear flavors with a great throat hit, even at a low % of nicotine. Their selection is limited, but I highly recommend the Cherry, Mango, Blueberry, and Blackberry. They are my go-to bottles when I'm frustrated with my own hit or miss mixes.
The other is one called Energy from Fort Meyers Vapor, also in FL. It is an herbal blend that tastes great, mostly a ginseng flavor, and goes really well with peach. It's not cheap, but You don't go through it so fast if you're just adding it to others.
It's good to have some premixed flavors you trust on hand for in between times in your experiments.
