Also, are you sure it's your juice? Some cartos will do that, so if you're using something different, it could be that. Some pg has a bitter taste as well that imo doesn't 'sit well' on the tongue giving the impression of 'dry', bordering on metalic...if your nic base is pg, or you're using a new pg it could be that as well. Sorry, I'm not being much help am I?

I'd just hate to see you ruin a perfectly good juice by adding a lot of different things then find out it's those new handy dandy cartos you bought specifically to try with your new juices...

Point well taken, Bostonsnoboxers. I've had cartos that cause dry hits. It seems that happens when they are running low on juice or are otherwise malfunctioning.

I do use high PG juice, but it's been pretty consistent throughout my vaping.

What I've experienced lately seems to be more a function of some juices in seemingly okay cartomizers. But certainly, cartomizers are a variable in the dry hit equation.

As well, voltage comes into play. I do run VV here. Sometimes there's a threshold. Not enough kick below some voltage threshold and too dry of hits above.

Still it seems the juice profile can be a significant contributor to dryness.

Not really. EM used in small amounts adds body and takes out the dryness, but does not sweeten. The higher percentage that two posters are using will make it sweet. EM is a stock component in a DIY kit because it can do so much from adding body to being a sweetener with body. I use a 10% EM solution (Sold by TPA/TFA as Cotton Candy Flavoring) much like I do with FA's MTS Vape Wizard to get body (Fractions of a single percent). I do not notice any sweetness until it gets close to 3%.

Also MTS VW does not add sweetness no matter what level it is used at, but I have never gone above 1 drop per 3ml and usually use it in the 1 drop per 5-8ml range.

Has anyone noticed any connection between Tobacco Absolute and dryness?

Yep, I believe that is why Scubabatdan's tobacco recipes always start with mixing the TA with a 10% EM solution, but only Dan would know for certain why he does that.

I tend to use FA's Virginia tobacco with TA to take out the dryness, but it is a bit sweet for some.

Hey Hoosier, Does Capella's mix well with tobacco flavors? Like the vanilla cupcake and the caramel? I want to get some Capellas but I'm not sure if they mix well with tobacco. I don't mix anything but tobacco.

Dave

I have no idea. I've never attempted to mix any Capella's with tobacco flavorings. When I think of Capella, I think of candy or an after dinner sweet pastry, which I do not think of when I think tobacco. I'm in the process of working up a dessert cigar, but I'm going for a dark leaf that has been aged in a brandy cask kind of flavor and no Capella's are on my list for experiments.

The caramel, in small amounts, might cut dryness and add a bit of body. The vanilla cupcake may help with a vanilla cigar. Don't know until you try. (I use plain old clear artificial vanilla for my vanilla cigar.)

Ive been playing around with DIY myself and I'm starting to learn. Its not easy when it comes to tobacco flavors. What is your PG/VG ratio Coolbreeze?

Dave

Hey Dave - I've been mixing for an 80/20 PG/VG target. Sometimes tinkering pushes the PG side of the equation up a little.
