I, too, am new to the DSE801. I've used RN4072 for several months but I eventually grew frustrated with the automatic batteries. So I got an 801 starter kit with manual batteries. Also, because I can't find an e cig that wicks juice efficiently, I've started direct dripping. Due to my inexperience I killed my first atty (Flooded it maybe?). So I've been very careful with the replacement. I never drip more than two or three drops. I started my new atomizer Saturday morning and now (Monday) my vapor is really weak. And it still leaks! Just now I noticed that it seems to be leaking from the LED light on the end! That can't be good! Has anyone else noticed this? Am I doing something wrong?
HELP!

Hope you didn't throw away your first atty! Have you tried Highpings' atty resurrection method?
How are you dripping? that atty is way the heck down in there. some people I think use an eyedropper to hit the right spot. You may have gunked and flooded it. take it apart, blow everything out and set it up to drain. then clean. and try again.
I also have had flustration with wicking, I think most of us have--- it's the inspiration for most modding. I haven't had my 801 long, but I have found it likes it very slow and easy on the vaping. I tend to chain vape with almost every breath, so I keep a couple of PV's in rotation. I vape one till hot, switch to another and so on, so the first one has time to cool and wick.
Hope that helped some, hopefully someone with more experience will come along shortly!

I have a little experience, switched to an eGo so not a lot. But what I found with
801 attys is they worked very nicely when new and fell of in vapor and taste pretty fast.
I used them mostly with a pass thru, and tried every cleaning method I found on the forum.
Frustrated I began debridging and dewicking them, after all they were broke anyway.
What I found is the wick was usually trashed, burnt, brittle, nonporus, unable to wick
anything!! I'm not sure why the wicks were so bad, surmised it looks like my carts
did not supply juice fast enough....????
I also found with a manual battery they were perfect for dripping.:party:
Bought an adapter to use the 801 atty with my eGo battery so I can "stovepipe"
the atty even and I believe the taste and vapor is better than a standard 510 atty.
