Akron, Ohio - in the "hood"
I'm posting this here just because this is about the only forum I visit daily, and because FSUSA is the only juice I vape - so my question is this;

How do you guys deal with the never ending cigarette? When I am not at work I tend to vape all day long. I always have my e-cig either in my hand or within arms reach. "Smoking" is no longer an event for me. Used to be that I would sit down, relax for a few minutes and have my cigarette. When it was over, well....it was over. Now I vape all day long. I no longer have smoking breaks because I never stop vaping.

I'm thinking now that I am getting far more nicotine than I ever got with analogs. Of course I know I am not getting the carcinogens either.....but still.

So how do you deal with a cigarette that never ends? Do you still have designated breaks? Are you able to go for hours without pulling out your e-cig? Are you concerned about getting more nicotine than you would with an analog?

I'm considering dropping down my nicotine %, although I really enjoy the level I'm at.

And just to brag it up a bit - I haven't bought a pack of cigarettes since last May. And I've probably only smoked about 10 analogs in that same time. I really really prefer e-cigs now to analogs. And that is directly due to the wonderful juices from FSUSA.

To be honest?

I just don't worry about it.

For now, I'm just happy I'm not smoking. And I smoked so much that, really, I'm not sure I vape that much more than I used to smoke. My breaks between puffs are shorter, but I take fewer puffs at a time. So I don't think there's a *huge* difference. I may be vaping slightly more than I smoked, but... I'm not smoking.

For me, right now, that's good enough. It's been 6 months since I switched completely to vaping (6 months today, in fact). And every once in a rare while, I still think about cigarettes. It's getting less over time, but I'm not completely over it.

So I don't worry about how much I vape. I've been hard on myself about quitting smoking in the past, and it never made it any easier for me. So I'm not going to be hard on myself about vaping either.

But that's just me. :)

I chain smoked and now I pretty much chain vape. I think there is a difference, though, just as MN pointed out. I take fewer "drags" at a time...so am I getting more nic now than I was then? Not sure. I have gone from 24mg to 18mg and that wasn't even a conscious decision, so I think I'll just "let it happen" and see what takes place from here. I'd like to lower my nic level more but I'm not going to beat myself up about it.

between here and there
I find that I usually vape heavily on the way to work but once there just every once in a while. It is nice not to have to go 'outside', so I just stealth vape. At home, if in front of the computer, I vape non-stop. But when I am not in front of the computer, I don't seem to vape that often. I did lower the nic in my ejuices but that is because I have several different flavors going all the time. I like the variety and would get bored if I only had one flavor to vape.
my 2 cents.:)

Sewnmachine, I know exactly what you mean! I used cigarettes as 'breaks' from my activities. For instance, when cooking a lot for the holidays, I used to go out and have a smoke and it helped me take a few minutes for myself. Now that I can vape as I cook, I don't take the breaks. Similarly, tonight, I've been "un-decorating" the house. When I smoked, I would have said (to myself) I'm going to do X, Y, and Z, then I'll go have a smoke. I do miss that about smoking. But, on the positive side, I'm much more efficient :) And I don't have to go outside in the cold :) And I'm less stressed at work because I used to have to go outside (off campus, as I work in a tobacco-free campus hospital), sneak a quick smoke, and hope no one smelled it on me when I came back in. Now I just run to the bathroom or locker room and sneak a vape.

I also vape all day, and I seriously doubt that I am getting anywhere near the amount of nicotine that I did from analogs - plus I can regulate the amount of nic in my juice, which I couldn't do with analogs. I was a heavy smoker, so I started at 36mg about 7 months ago, and have worked my way down to 18mg.

I read somewhere that the metabolism of nic is different with ecigs vs. analogs. This is a reason they are sold at higher nic levels. I chain vape too. I use a pt at home and at work. I am lucky because at work I got a lot of support and demonstrated it for them. When I am out, I carry my ego with KR8 cartos. One of the reasons I use it so much is that the experience is better to me than smoking was. I love the flavors too and don't really equate vaping to smoking anymore. I am 6 months past my last analog and don't want one. Vape On!:vapor::vapor::vapor:

I do, but I don't. Yes, it's always RIGHT there but I don't vape like I smoked. When I smoked a cigarette, it was constant inhaling for 10 minutes or so (possibly more if I felt like having two). With vaping, I only inhale once every 10 minutes or so. I also noticed that when I finally took the advice and raised my nicotine level (don't know why I resisted that so hard, but whatever), I use it even less. There is something different with the metabolism because I've noticed it's not the first thing I reach for in the morning like I did with cigarettes, so I don't know that they're comparable anymore for me.

When I smoked analogs I couldn't even sit on the computer, read a book, drink alcohol or watch a movie at home without smoking. In the past month, I don't even think about vaping until around 2pm. I vape for about 20 minutes on and off and then I stop. At least with vaping, I can stop and it doesn't bother me at all for hours. With analogs I thought about them all day, around the clock. Even when I was bored with nothing to do, I smoked because I thought it made me not bored.
