Rolygate said it best here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...w-can-i-contact-mod-admin-2.html#post10511215

We are really sorry about this but ECF's job is to remain an ultra-respectable forum, in order to ensure that we cannot be dismissed as some form of underground site that has no relevance to health or regulatory issues. Our job at ECF is to collate and publish all ecig-related resources, including political and health data. As such, we must meet the same standards applied to other resources in these areas: doctors, politicians, regulators and advocates from around the world use ECF's materials.

Not to mention, the language requirements are set out very specifically in the forum rules which can be read here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ecf-forum-rules/51178-forum-rules.html

It's funny though, since some partial words are blocked that aren't vulgar and the part that is blocked isn't a swear in most of the world outside of the UK. It took me awhile to figure out why "sw@nky" (as is poshly dressed) was blocked. Lol!

This is a UK forum....;) Looked where Smokey Joe is from lately? But ya the cultural differences are amusing :)

I understand t he whole "we are adults" thing, but , Im no prude, but if you check out most of the other forums, what sets this forum aparts is the language thing.

We can not assume that all of us are young , hip, cool cats. That we use the censored words as adjectives or colourful expressions. When I go to other forums I see what all the uncensoring ends up bringing with it. Rude bullies that use fowl language to belittle new people with questions that seem dumb to them. Or instead of giving intellectual reasons for their preferences they just curse and are rude to those with different tastes in gear.

Though bickering and rudeness still happens occasionally, its nice to know that someone who is not so young or not so hip can come here and get help and advice without someone being rude or having to see some funny yes, but very offensive avatars or posts that contain "very adult" video clips.

I would like to think that the young and hip can communicate without having to use a censored word on every other word.

Like I %#$$ said, Im no bleeping prude, but Bleep, I dont thing we need to be such ruffians. :)

Why? Just to prove you can be an adult without feeling compelled to drop f-bombs for every second word spoken. Have you actually tried to read the e-cig forums with no censorship at all? Once you get past the unbridled swearing and all the avatars with nothing but porn shots it's hard to actually figure out what they are talking about.

ECF might seem a tad extreme, but until every single "adult" can show they can actually reign in the pointless expletives... I like it better this way.

While I don't mind the occasional swear word, if left unchecked, it would be nothing but a swear fest here. Sorry, but it's true! We get many members on here that seem to think that their posts are the equivalent of a text message! "Hey, wts the best e juice 4 u? What ecig r u using? Y does it work 4 u? IDK if this is going to wrk 4 me so I wnt to ask u about it?"
I can't imagine what would happen if the gates on swearing were to open up!

It is my honest opinion, adults should be able to convey the same message without every other word being a curse word.
Cursing brings nothing constructive to the table or discussion and if I were to ask a question and get some genius who thinks it's their right to speak to me any kind of way by cursing at me; we're going to have a problem.

 I'm sorry but that was great

I agree with everything everyone says. I was just wondering...I don't curse often only when extremely upset or sometimes overly excited....occasionally in jest with friends but yes it is nice having a conversation without every other word being a swear

As I said curiosity killed the cat and thought maybe there was a setting somewhere to turn off filters that I had missed....

And yes it is a shame that unfortunately age does not make one mature nor grant common sense......

I was aware of that. It's just when the word was blocked (while some others aren't) it caught me off guard. I was married to a Brit for a very long time and lived in the UK for awhile. :)
