Custard and Custard v2 Questions

Hey all I have been making my custard for the last year or so. Just recently I bought all v2 flavors that I mix with the custard flavor V1. With what I made I noticed the v2 needed more flavor than v1 also with heat steeping it lost a little something and did not turn as dark as V1. Both mixes were cap flavors. Has anyone else noticed this about V2 flavors?

I have both, but can't comment on the V2. All I can say is that many people claim that it is a tad muted compared to the V1, while other swear that it's almost the same. A lot of people also say that you lose the buttery/creamy flavor that you get from the V1. In terms of color, I did notice that the V2 is more on the clear side.

So pretty much with what I was thinking. I guess I will try to go back to the lab for more tweaking :evil:
