I recently switched to this tank, which I also happened to purchase from VapeNY, I was a bit skeptical because they clearly (no pun intended) push these tanks HARD (and the tanks bare the store's logo... coincidence? I think not). Anyway, I am having some sort of issue, though I can't say conclusively that it is an issue with the tank, only that it might be. In fact, I am hoping someone could give me some insight to the problem I am having.
Before this tank, I was using the cheap KangerTech T3S tanks, which I actually really liked, the flavor was good, and I could vape it laying down on the couch or bed without worrying about getting little drips in my mouth, even though filling them was quite the leaky process. I do like this tank because it does not leak at all, even laying down despite being a top coil. That said, after replacing the coil, getting the lower seal in place to be screwed back together was next to impossible. I am certain that it was cross threading, and caused the center tube and coil to be far off center of the tank. I managed to fix that issue by simply inverting the tank and screwing the head into the base and vice versa, and it worked fine.
My real problem though is this, with both tanks, I was using your standard 650 mah Joye eGo-C Twist battery. With the T3S, I could turn the voltage all the way up to 4.8 without any problem (not that I made a habit of this since I wasn't exactly in a hurry to burn out the coils). But with this tank, if I turn it up even just a little bit from 3.2, I get a real nasty plastic-y taste. I can go to about 3.4 and still be okay, but anything more than 3.6 is game over.
Incidentally, I got the cutie tank at the same time I began buying juice from VapeNY since I really didn't like having to order online a week in advance for other (maybe better?) juices. I also have a second, smaller generic knock-off eGo battery from my truly novice vaping days. This battery also has variable voltage over three set increments via pressing the button 3 times in quick succession. Furthermore, either my Joye battery is faulty, or my 510 charger is faulty because the light on the charger no longer changes from red to green when it is done charging. I am inclined to think it is the charger because it does this for both batteries, but still the knock off battery seems to hold its charge longer, than the larger Joye battery.
Based on that information, I came to the conclusion that my problem with the flavor must be associated with any one (or more) of the following possibilities:
1)The new juice simply does not vaporize well at higher voltages
2)The cutie tank coil burns very easily
3)My battery has a faulty voltage regulator (and it is actually discharging at a [much] higher voltage than indicated)
I have only been vaping since August when I quit cigarettes (woo!) so I am by no means an expert, but I'd really like to get to the bottom of this. Does anyone have any thoughts on the matter, or have had similar experiences?
