Symptoms E-Cigarettes: A Safe Substitute for Smokers? Wellness 650334 I do not know if this is posted elsewhere. This was what came up when doing a search for ecigarettes within the CVS site.

Good:

It is important to confirm that these e-cigarettes are safer for the user and those around them

Bad:

It may also make a difference if you are using this as a tool to quit, or a potentially safer substitute for smoking that you plan to continue indefinitely.

If you no longer smoke cigarettes, you're not a smoker. How you got to that point, and what you do after it, is totally immaterial.

For a Large Corporation to put this on their Website, it was actually a Pretty Balanced summation. Not Perfect. But just about Nothing is.

CVS has been doing some Interesting things lately with tobacco Products. I wonder how e-Cigarettes fit into CVS's Long-term tobacco Policies?

My read of that article sees it more as "damning with false praise." It is full of references to ANTZ junk science and makes a case for draconian regulations and indoor use bans.

This was my read also, they destroyed any good in the first section with the second one and its references. Most were ones used for the basis of e-cigarettes are bad articles.

eta: I mean reference to the debunked 2009 diethylene glycol FDA study?

On CVS - recall (or note) the Senate HELP committee hearing (if you haven't seen it - it may well be worth the time) and Senator Whitehouse from RI and his comments (at 10:30 in) about CVS and then Sen. Burr! makes some comments about CVS (@45:20 into the video).

FDA Regulation E-Cigarettes | Video | C-SPAN.org

And if you want to know to what I refer to when I speak of Zeller's 'greatest good' views (the 'net population' argument, vs. the rights of individuals to choose - go to around 38 minutes into the video.

Not on topic, but wow, Zeller a tool. I hadn't seen this video before, and I will devote a terrible hour and a half of my life to watching the full thing at some point. Thank you Kent.
