Is it time to boycott CVS? The 'no tobacco' policy may be worse than you thought

We need to get out of our own little corner of the world, and start publicly putting pressure on CVS to stop selling *all* tobacco products, including nicotine patches, gum & lozenges..

This is a vape war, folks.. Playing defense is nice & all, but we've been doing that for far too long..

Some offense is needed if we want to win this thing...

I have no Love of BP or BT .If CVS wants to give up profits from Cigarette sales heck its a private business its their right to do so. We all support private Businesses having the right whether or not to allow Electronic cigarette use instead of Indoor smoking Bans.I hate the tactics being used to attack Electronic Cigarettes but any way a person can quit smoking cold turkey-electronic cigarettes-FDA approved NRT,s,acupuncture- I am 100% for quitting smoking. I do not think there is a conspiracy going on here just a business choice and PR choice to become the FIRST Big Chain to do this and the good PR that brings them. Now Walmart or Walgreens will look like follow the leader if they do it Plus will lose the cigarette sales profits.

I'm still processing the blatant hypocrisy CVS engages in by selling hundreds of other products which are well known as 'unhealthy.'

As that hypocrisy is literally all around us, it is hard to single out CVS for it, but not so hard when in a discussion thread that is attempting to suggest that CVS has utmost concern for a person's health.

Not that hard to understand, really. If stopped selling any of the other unhealthy items, they'd be inconveniencing far more of their customer base than the 18% of people who smoke, and the prevailing public reaction would be that they were arbitrarily limiting consumer choice in pursuit of a political agenda. Of course, this argument would be equally correct with regard to their no-tobacco policy, but if you do something that only affects tobacco users, everyone who's not a tobacco user reflexively says "Yeah, alright! Screw the smokers!"

I like how the cookies and soda shelves are one aisle away from the liquor aisles. Start 'em while they're young.
