cyclone afc build help

Hey guys! I'm hoping I can get some feedback here to help me. I have a cyclone with AFC and I'm having some issues. I know it's a user error for sure. But, I don't seem to be getting the flavor/vapor from it that I get on an rm2. I'm just wondering what tips you guys might have for a build that rocks. For instance, with the rm2 I found raising the coil slightly got me a lot of flavor as did moving the coil the rim. Clearly I dont' want to move the coil too far on the cyclone so that it shorts out etc. But, I'm running a dual coil right now and something isn't jiving with it. I'm getting ok flavor and vapor but not sure what the best build would be or what you guys recommend.

What gauge wire are you using, and whats the ohm's reading?

Are the air holes in a good (near the coils) position?

I think so. I have the airholes almost directly behind them when lining it up.

Can I suggest you try a thicker wire as that should enhance the flavor. As a general rule of thumb the longer the surface area of vaporization the better the flavor. Hence a thicker wire will allow you a few more wraps for the same resistance and should improve the flavor.
Another thing is to be careful you're not using too much cotton/wick in the coils which could potentially restrict juice feeding.

I can't help at because I have never found a dual coil set-up that gave me the same flavor as a single coil chalice, RM2 or cyclone with small stock air hole on the AFC cap. I am still searching myself so I will follow this thread. I have been close but only at really low ohm so I must be doing something wrong myself.

Which direction would be a thicker wire? Sorry I should really know this but trying to figure out if I should go up or down lol.

If your're using 30g go for 28 or 26g which are progressively thicker wires

Also make sure you're placing the coils at an angle close the air holes. the holes are offset to one side so you want your coils to be positioned in the same orientation as the holes represented by the black lines.

I just built a dual .9ohm using 28ga 10 wraps and it took so long to fire it was crazy. I am not sure it ever got hot. When I hit the button It is go time not nap time....lol

I can get a .39 to vape ok but the flavor is still not the same albeit it is not terrible. I like the hard throat hit but....The only flavor I like on that atty is unflavored base. For me this is more of a beer and pizza vape not a relaxing sit on the porch and watch a sunset vape.

I'm running a single coil 24ga in my cyclone with 6 wraps at around .45ohm and it's spectacular! Barely got the coil in there without it touching the cap, but it fit. To me, dual coils are a pita.

Same here. I've given up on dual coils in the Cyclone AFC. The extra coil does not seem to translate into a better vape.

I should state that I don't have the afc cap, just drilled the stock airhole a size bigger.

I also only run 1 coil in my Cyclone with AFC. I'm running using 28g, 6 wraps on 1.5mm gizmo mandrel at .52 Ω. I think doing dual coils in that atty would be a serious PITA, and I don't think the benefits would warrant it. I run singles in my rm2s as well. The only one I run duals in is an IGO-W4, but it's not meant for single coils, and to me the flavor is much better with the single coil.

Only single coils for me on the AFC cap. I use a twisted 28ga on a 5/32" drill bit mounted side saddle.
