I personally use an itaste VTR. I still used analogs while I was first vaping. When I got serious and put down the analogs I went to my local vape shop and talked the ear off of the people there. Long story short. I needed to up the nic to 18mg and it has really helped. You might want to take him to a local vape store so he can check out what he is comfortable with and taste a variety of juices.

the joyetech ego ONE is very small, classy looking, and one of the coils is made for mouth to lung hits. Its small enough to just drop into shirt pocket.

Does Dad not like your nauti min and istick?

Does he want a tube shape or a box shape, etc.? Tell us more!

I quit smoking a week ago with the Nautilus Mini and iStick 30w. I suggested those to him but he's searching around trying to figure it out.
He asked me to help him find a good solid list of units that were intended from those quitting cigarettes yet enjoyable.

He's been smoking for 45 years so preferably something effective for mouth-to-lung hits.

an istick is a good startup power supply;
if he want's to consider a step up, he could look at a replaceable battery mod like a vamo, svd2, elvt2; there are also the rdna devices; one of the top of the line devices would be the sigelei100/150; there's the ipv.

if he's tech savy he should log in here!

Since you already have a nautilus mini, it might be advantageous for him to get one too so that you both have devices using the same replaceable heads.
An rda is a good thing to have early on; if he manages to get going on an rda early enough he'll jump ahead of the tank-chase

I'd stick with the iStick. And the big Nautilus on top, with a hollowed tank for security.
For a beginner ease of use and good battery life are important. Also, it's not very pricey.

As for the list of enjoyable units - there is a LOT out there end every device is being enjoyed by someone. A relative of mine, a PAD smoker for 45+ years enjoys his eGo with a Mini Protank 3 on top now. So to each his own.

Hey, Pandepon! Congrats and kudos to you for helping your dad. :thumb: You do have a good setup for beginning to learn about vaping, but your dad wants choices. So, take him to a couple of classy, well stocked, and friendly to noobs vape shops so he can see, feel, and hold all the different choices. Also, test tasting juices is important. Even tho your dad is technically adept, there is a learning curve.....He'll just get thru it a lot quicker than some of us (me). Also, this can be an enjoyable "outting" for the both of you. Have lunch too!

P.S. Find out the least busy time the vape shops have so they have more time to devote to you dad's questions. :D

Pandepon, given your Dad is tech savvy, maybe you can get him to jump on ECF? There's a thread called, "Older Folks and Vaping, Front Porch" in which folks mostly 50 yrs old and up hang out. I mention this because lots of young(er) vapers are surprised to learn that many of us older vapers also use higher wattage devices, build, and even sub ohm. There are proponents of every device and topper, and we're always happy to share our thoughts!

Get him something that he can do for himself but leave him room to grow as well.

For an attty I'd go with a Kanger Subtank Mini, this leaves him with the ease of replaceable coils and the option to dip his feet into rebuilds later if he so chooses at no extra cost.

As for a mod I'd really go with any of the new little istick mods, they're cheap, regulated and get the job done. Hard to hate on them.
