"The Flair"

(completely mechanical mod)
This will be the first of many other fine patterned metal electronic cigarettes we will be producing in the future. Elegance style and functionality all in one device!
The Flair is a merging of modern day metallurgy and electronic cigarette ingenuity. The Damascus body is constructed of approximately 90% 316 stainless steel and 5 % Carbonite as a macro molecular composite, recreating the damascus steel structure. The beauty of the material is that each piece will differ in pattern much like a fingerprint. This mod will have a locking GG style button (used with the permission of Imeotahnasis -maker of GG), a brass center pin which is adjustable from either top side or underneath and a hot spring.
It is a completely mechanical mod meaning there are no wires or solder used in this mod.The mod will be serial numbered with the name engraved on the bottom plate. The 510 threading is cut from Stainless Steel regardless of plate material and set flush to the top.

The new composite metal has the same visual characteristics of the source metal with some very unique new characteristics some of which are noted as follows:

Lighter than the source metal (or metals)
In many cases stronger than the source metal
Surface will patina like source metal
Impervious to almost all chemicals
Will not corrode
Holds a gem quality finish without clear coat
Mokume Gane with high concentrations of copper are antimicrobial and antifouling
Will not conduct electricity
Allows for the re-alloying of dissimilar metals
Scratch resistant with high polish

There will be a variety of color options for the body all made of patterned composite metals. You will have the choice of Stainless Steel or Naval Brass for the top/bottom plates and switch. The mod will be offered in both 18350 and 18500 battery sizes. Descriptions of the body colors are listed below.

Color choices for body

Damascus Steel
Damascus shares the same visual characteristics as the original. We have used bright 316 Stainless Steel with a fine Carbonite grain to create our version of this ancient art. Available in various shapes and sizes this beautiful material will polish to an extremely high gem quality shine or you can be creative and patina with chemical patina agents.

Cobaltium Mokume
Cobaltium is the first true blue metal alloy. This fascinating new alloy appears silver in direct light and blue when viewed with indirect light. Cobaltium takes on a bright high shine finish and mesmerizes with its color changing properties. We have combined it with our Black Carbonite to create a magnificent high contrast Mokume grain.

Gunsmoke & Gold Mokume
Gunsmoke & Gold Mokume is a continuation of our White Gold series satisfying the appetites of yellow gold and silver metal lovers. Magnificent Gold Bronze combined with the deep space sparkle of Gunsmoke Bronze creates a subtle contrast of yellow gold and dark chrome. As with all our composite metals it will polish to an extremely high gem quality shine.

White Mokume
White Mokume is for all of the White Gold and Platinum lovers in the world. Did you know that White Metal makes up 70% of all jewelry sales? This magnificent White Aluminum metal alloy combined with deep space sparkle of Gunsmoke Bronze creates a perfect contrast of bright silver and dark chrome. Galactic Bronze contains an element that can only be described as "Diamond Dust" which creates a deep galactic star field within the metal itself which is both dazzling and mesmerizing.

Classic Mokume Gane
The purest copper and the brightest White Aluminum have been combined to create our version of this ancient Japanese metal art. The copper will patina over time adding to the contrast and the unique look of the material. Copper of this purity is antimicrobial so objects made from this material are perfect for medical, food or laboratory environments. “Mokume Gane” which literally translates to “wood grained metal” has been fascinating collectors for centuries.

Black & White Mokume
Similar to Lapis Mokume only the contrast metal is a White Aluminum (custom white/silver metal alloy). This white/silver metal exhibits some remarkable color changing properties and will look like a very bright silver in direct light and opaque white in indirect light.

Black & Red Mokume
Black Carbonite, the compound that gives carbon fiber it’s unbelievable strength, with Red Copper grain makes for a spectacular high contrast Mokume. The red copper, another original re-alloy will remain red and not tarnish like regular copper alloy.

Blue & Red Mokume
Originally a custom order for a customer who was making presentation pieces for NY Giants football, we fell in love with this material and added it to our line. Blue Bronze with a Red Copper grain is just incredible to look at and to hold. It will polish to an extremely high gem quality shine.

Lapis Mokume
Blue Bronze, another original alloy has been combined with a fine Gold Bronze (custom gold metal alloy) creating an elegant metal composite which closely resembles the semi-precious stone for which it has been named.

Black Gold
Black Carbonite, the compound that gives carbon fiber it’s unbelievable strength, is brightly contrasted with a magnificent Gold Bronze grain. This high contrast material finishes to a spectacular gem finish and exhibits the deep dimensional star-field surface.

Blue & White Mokume
Similar to Lapis Mokume only the contrast metal is a White Aluminum (custom white/silver metal alloy). This white/silver metal exhibits some of remarkable color changing properties and will look like a very bright silver in direct light and opaque white in indirect light.

Here is some additional technical info about the material

Metal that has been deconstructed to the macro molecular level, re-alloyed and then reconstructed creating a completely new metal composite material. Metal deconstruction requires very specialized equipment that super heats the metal and then shoots it with water, gas or plasma causing it to explode into molecules of specific shape and size. Combining high concentrations of this macro molecular metal with highly refined chemical binders creates a chemical reaction that causes the molecules to crosslink forming a new and in many cases superior molecualr structure.

One of the many unique characteristics is that it is electronically depleted and will not cause electrolysis within its own structure. This means that new combinations of metals, even those combining dissimilar metals are now possible. Scientists and engineers can now create lightweight metal composites that combine the properties of many metals whether they are compatible or not. The founders discovered that this technology allowed them to modernize the ancient Japanese art of "Mokume Gane" (which means "wood grained metal") as well as "Damascus Steel". Beautiful “ Mokume Gane” , “ Damascus Steel” and exotic pattern metals of unlimited combinations are not only possible, but financially viable as the process is much more cost effective than traditional “Mokume” methods.

A new breed of composite materials that make everything from the Stealth Bomber to the International Space Station possible. Additionally recognized for its astounding aesthetic properties, gem quality finish and heirloom characteristics; These Metal Composites allow the artisan to transcend the barrier between art and craft and transform handcrafted objects into the finest heirloom quality luxury goods.

These materials are made with high purity metals and other exotic elements that have been deconstructed to the macro-molecular level, re-alloyed and then reconstructed with highly refined chemical binders. Heat, pressure and an exothermic chemical reaction cause the molecules to cross link forming a new material with a unique macro-molecular structure. Because the molecules are distributed homogenously the new material gains the benefit of all the unique characteristics of the individual components.

Originally developed for aerospace and the military the engineers uncovered a host of aesthetic qualities that build on the remarkable benefits of these materials. The proprietary process together with the natural interplay of the metals and elements creates exotic metal colors, beautiful random wood grain patterns and metal combinations that were never before possible. Deep, dimensional, mirror finishes with galactic star field qualities make for a surface that is mesmerizing and lasting.

Engineered to be dense and stable with a high strength-to-weight ratio, these composites will hold the finest of detail. Colors and patterns run completely through the material and the finished product is beautiful, lightweight, very strong, comfortable to wear and to touch and will last for many generations.

An exciting new space age material that is just now being recognized for its remarkable beauty, strength and futuristic properties. Millions of dollars have been spent perfecting this material for the aerospace, medical, marine, architectural and other industries. The skin of the Space Shuttle, the Stealth Bomber and the International Space Station all contain examples of this remarkable new material.
It is electronically depleted so that it will not conduct electricity or promote electrolysis allowing for new metal alloys that are just not possible in nature.
It is very strong and holds a deep mirror finish.

I am definitely in for one.... maybe 2 if price isn't too high.

thought I expect it to be a little expensive due to Damascus composite material.

So Brad, this what you have been doing. :( :) Instead of grips! LOL

Still working on the Grips... just the past few days been doing clerical administrative stuff for this. Parts for this mod are all going to be made by CNC at a shop ;)

Wow looks like u have been busy! I am sure these will take off! :)

Got a question tho, what is a "chemical patina agent" and what will it do to the metal?

And of course I wanna know what the starting price is :)

Sent from my KFTT using Tapatalk 2

A chemical patina agent will basically tarnish or give a patina to the metal and give it the appearance of something old.
Pre-order price isa listed on top and also on the site just above the order form ;)
