When the Trifecta is plugged in, should the "Bloog" logo be lit up or not? Sometimes, depending on how I fiddle with the (not so great) plug-in connector the light flashes between off and on.

Keep in mind that if you got the fusion ultimate add on kit, it comes with the car charger, but the amperage on it is less than needed for a pass through. I don't know if the trifecta's work like a PT (put the power straight from the charger to the carto), or like a battery that is charged while using. If the former, might want to get a higher amperage car charger, probably find one cheap on ebay/amazon if the bloog max is out. If it's the latter, you should be fine with it.

I think it should work, at least I was told it would by NYC

I believe it should light up. Others have posted with issues about the plug not making contact or not going in straight, etc. Rather than fiddle with it or find workarounds, you may want to consider returning for a replacement. Defective merchandise exchanges are supposed to also refund your shipping costs -- Leaford mentioned this recently, somewhere. LOL

Yeah, the plug is kind of crooked. I thought maybe it turned off when fully charged. Maybe one of the Bloog ee's will chime in an confirm (and give instructions if the best thing to do is get a replacement)

It's a know issue :/
The connector is less than perfect.

Think it's the latter.
And if the bat is discharged, for example, you can't vape on it even if charging. You have to let it charge a bit.
If you continually vape you can even discharge the battery even when charging.

I decided not to buy the Trifecta when I learned that it uses the same technology as the Fusion, and not the MaxxFusion.

Yes, the logo should stay lit up. If it doesn't, please return it for a warranty replacement.
