It has struck me how quickly mods have advanced. It wasnt long ago that I was pumped to have my Roller.
It is still a top performer in terms of v drop amongst telescoping mods, and the build quality is amazing.
I still love the minimalist design.
However, sitting next to my ELA, or any of my other mods, it looks like something out if the 1920's.
Heck, a year or so ago, any Atmizoo product would sell out in days, if not hours.
Now they are sitting there with reduced prices.
That being said, there are excellent mods out there for great prices.
I picked up another Silver Dog hybrid genny with three tubes for $90

What has aged the worst in your collection?

Many to choose from.
K100 is the obvious choice for me but what stand out the most?
Nemesis.
Once the pinnacle of mod design is now stale and mediocre.

Turtleship and patriot atty get honorable mention.

You know, I never got into the Nemmy. I even tried twice - authentics both times. I am a slow learner...

They were just too fiddly for me.

The Patriot though?

What is it that makes you feel that way? I still use mine. Drilled out airholes, and I drilled the post holes bigger to fit thicker gauge kanthal. ( well after lookin back on the work I put into it, I see your point)

For me, a dated dripper would be the Tugboat. God, I loved that thing, and now I never use it.

I still use mine too, drilled as well, but I remember everyone sporting a drilled patriot.
Lol
Now I see tons of TOBHs with wide bore top caps and Mutation Xs.
The patriot is a fantastic RDA, just not state of the art any more.

I'm using a Poiiox? Clone RDA on my workhorse, and getting crazy flavor and weather changing clouds.

Yah, i can see that.

Me and drippers have cooled off, though.

It seems to me that unless you go exotic, like my Strata(which I love), the biggest difference between drippers is how easy or hard they are to build.
Sure, there are some differences in the feel of the airflow, but I can no longer appreciate the differences between them.
Little Boy, Mephisto V1 or 2, TOBH, Hobo, Patriot, seem more or less the same.
Never heard of the Poiiux though. We seem to have similar tastes though.
I might check it out

I'm gonna have to go ahead and disagree with that. I've got 3 Nemesis (all authentics), a SS Shined, a black aluminum custom (18650), and a Graphite with a hybrid top cap. All 3 of them sit among the top of my collection in terms of styling, how hard they hit, and ease of use.

Feel free to send me all the stuff you're not using. LOL I still use my Valkyrie hybrids daily. (both a full and a mini and my lady has the same setups) They work, provide great flavor, sufficient clouds for this almost 60 year old fellow and well just work. There's a lot to be said for "hits hard and just works".

The King V1 that the previous poster listed would be, to me, the classic example of this.
I have a brass V1. The center pin on the top cap is a contraption, and the rounded hex nuts make it look like something I found under the kitchen sink.
It does, however, work and hit hard.

As for the anything with a top cap being dated - not for me.
I feel the passthrough mods that are being called a "hybrid" are simply a cheap workaround to avoid having a decent design and materials.
There are plenty of mods with a center pin that have been tested by JKuro, and have 0 v drop, and were properly tested from a regulated power source.
If you want a hybrid, then don't use a 510 atty.
Use a real hybrid.
My 2 cents, anyways.

kings/surefire vapor went downhill quickly, i remember being quoted $325 for one a year and a half ago, now they can't give them away on the classifieds......

the nemesis got stale because atmo refused to update the design. they finally came out with a copper one, many months after the copper clone had come out. the 26650 nemesis was late to the game, you hardly even see them from lack of interest.

i hate to say it, but i can't help but notice even the cartels are starting to slip in value, ever so slightly.....

As a lot of other things, vape has it's own fashion... When I started to look mech mods, in october 2013, Velas were the top!... Now we don't see a lot of them anymore... then came copper, and then boxes...

But I'm still stucked with my tubes! I love my Bi0mech gen 1.5, a telescopic one, 3 centimeters longer than the battery in... and I just bought a GG4S, 77/78mm with a 18650 in!

But even if fashion fades, real good mods remains, and still perform very well!

Same for moders too, I didn't liked the look of older GGs (they kinda look dated), but I love my GG4S.

Shoud be the same for Atmomixani, he should design a new mod, with new inventive features, to come back, but I guess it's easier to say than to do...

I never did like the Nemesis. They have certainly held up in the looks department, but they were/are needlessly complex.

Mine were by far the most fiddly mods I owned. Heck, just locking and unlocking the button - screw screw (tug) screwscrewacrew ..... Dang it! The button walked again! Now I have battery rattle! Screwscrewacrew fiddle screw

When you had them set up, they hit like a beast though.

based on the end caps and given the fact its a single-tube with side-button - its not a genuine gg

Sure, you're right, but they quite share the same design.

I may be an "iconoclast" new GG owner, but at first, I really didn't like the GG style, mainly because of their side button and shined look.

Now that I've read and seen a lot about GG's, I kinda like them, but mainly because of a mod the "GG purist" don't lika as much...

And about the Nemy, even if it's a "standard", I is dated, not as run-of-the-mill as Gus mods, but quite dated now, and too complex for what they do...

I don't see gg's as dated, they look like relics from 1800's but I think that is part of the design and would have looked just as dated today as the day they where first made.

on the other hand the chi you looks really cluncky and dated, the huge length, the bulky top cap, the mostly necessary by now airflow control all add up
