Hi all, I am looking for a new mech mod authentic or clone, I dont hate on either.

My requirments --

1.) Recessed button

2.) Locking mechanism of some kind. ( I know recessed button + locking mechanism pretty much never go hand in hand together but I would like it if it had both )
- This one is not an absolute must

3.) Hybrid connection top cap

4.) Copper or Silver plated copper contacts

5.) Magnet Switch, I really dont want to be bothered with springs anymore.

6.) Minimalistic in design. I dont want anything crazy looking like a v3 flip. A simple straight tube is all I need with maybe a minimal engraving.

7.) 18650 tube only. I dont want anything modular or telescoping.

8.) Option of Stainless steel or copper

9.) As small as possible in 18650 configuration. Looking for a mod thats below 85mm in 18650. The smaller the better.

So far the only 3 that exist that KIND of have everything I want are the SMPL mod / Fortune mod / Neuron mod.

I wouldve have purchased a SMPL mod already but because the switch is a spring, I have held off. The other 2 seem like their way too hard to get.

If anyone has some suggestions please throw them out to me!

i'm not sure if this is a viable contender, but i tried a flagship over the weekend and LOVED it! no locking ring, and the button is not recessed, but it is a 14lb spring. seems like a very solid mod, and I'm thinking about picking one up - authentic is only $120!! I have the 4nine, and I love the smaller formfactor.

I own a 4nine and a SMPL while my buddy owns a XXIX.

Normally people get magnets to reduce the sideways crunchiness of springs but the SMPL throw plus being recessed button makes it smoother than my Stingray X button was by a long shot.

I guess if magnets are a huge deal then throwing them in would only take about 3 mins and cost $10. So just throw magnets in it.

I bought a copper flagship, as a daily mod, it hits good, but the spring is supper stiff with a battery in it, but it's starting to break in. The only 2 bad things I can say about it so far is that the threading is great, if not careful it seems like it can get cross threaded pretty easy and the etching on the button is super light and I'm not sure if it would last more than 1-3 polishes.

A customer of ours just wrote this message to us, and I thought we would share it with you all

"I tested my hardest hitting mods. This is a comparison test.
Test done with authentic TOBH V2.5 built at .16 4 wraps kanthal 22ga duel coil sleeper
Each test was with a fully charged sony vct5
All the mods were spotless to perform test
Flagship 3.78
Brass manhattan 3.61
Copper manhattan 3.75
Alum manhattan 3.51
Beast mod 3.64
Heimdall brass 3.60
4nine copper 3.72
Copper nemesis (clone) 3.69
Brads nemesis (clone) 3.62
Grand vapor sentnal (old school) 3.60
Those are the best mods I have.

Flagship is the best hitting mod I have to date. With the ball bearing switch it NEVER arks the negative contact only mod I have used that does that."

Maybe take a look at the Lernaia Hydra .

- Silver plated contacts

- Recessed firing button that locks with a snapping 1/4 turn. It's not magnets, but it's not a spring either; take a look at todd's review when he takes apart the switch, it's fairly unique. Lernaia Hydra Mod & Zorbas VW Module - YouTube

I'm afraid it's not a single 18650 tube though, and there is only a Kayfun 3.1 hybrid adapter that I know of for it.

You can get in in either 22mm or 23mm versions. Brushed or Polished stainless steel.

It might take some searching to find it not paired with the Zorba module though, who knows.
