Before anything else, want to thank V4L again for letting me test this early. Yesterday they officially released the auto version of the DAV. As of right now it's only available in one size and color, but that's because of Chinese New Year. Can tell everyone more options will be on the way (which makes me happy because it means more testing). Without further ado, on to the review and info-
DAV 1100mah Auto-

The first thing that stands out about this DAV is the lack of a button. For the auto lovers of the vaping world this one of a kind pv, seeing as there are currently no other automatic vv device on the market of any type. It is a "sealed" auto connection, but one without any of the kinks of some of the previous "sealed autos" on the market. The draw is like that of a king diamond manual (in other words very analog like), and the switch is as responsive as the unsealed auto kd's of old. Haven't had a single issue of lag or needing to take a very hard draw to activate it. Size wise, it's 1mm or so shorter than it's manual counterpart of the same size (mah), and slightly lighter due to the removal of the button housing. This also gives it a more streamlined appearance imo. There is an indicator light on the auto DAV, right above the 4.2v setting is a very small white led. That brings up the next change, the voltage settings themselves. Where the manuals were 3.3-3.8-4.3-4.8v, the auto is 3.2-3.7-4.2-4.8v. Have done the 1.5ohm DC carto full voltage run, but need to get those notes straightened out. Instead will be posting the full charge on load starting voltages for the 5 types of cartos will be testing on it over the next few weeks. This will give you an idea what to expect from it at least at start. One more thing to note before getting into the technical numbers, this can be used as a hands free pv. Suggest using a 3.5ml tank, cool cart, or wow carto with a ming dt for best results, but it's a subject of personal preference.

Off load voltage-

3.2v- 3.23v
3.7v- 3.74v
4.2v- 4.21v
4.8v- 4.83v

On load voltages-

1.5ohm DC-

3.2- 3.23v
3.7- 3.71v
4.3- 3.94v
4.8- 3.94v

2.0ohm DC-

3.2- 3.22v
3.7- 3.70v
4.2- 4.21v
4.8- 4.27v

2.5ohm DC-

3.2- 3.23v
3.7- 3.72v
4.2- 4.22v
4.8- 4.43v

Cool cart at 3.3ohms-

3.2v- 3.23v
3.7v- 3.73v
4.2v- 4.22v
4.8v- 4.81v

Wow carto at 2.3ohms-

3.3v- 3.22v
3.7v- 3.73v
4.2v- 4.21v
4.8v- 4.80v

As we can see very similar numbers to it's manual counterpart on fresh charge on load testing. Will be updating this thread as tests complete.

Thanks for the info! 10-13 sounds a bit better. Out of curiosity, I fired up my stop watch app, and confirmed that my 3 manual DAV average 8 seconds (one cuts off at 7.7, one at 7.9 and one at 8.2). Given that I'm 3 for 3, I probably just have some on the low end of whatever the range is for those, and not a defect. I compensate by releasing the button briefly mid-draw, probably defeating whatever safety function the auto cut-off was made for. It's irritating enough (to me) to prevent me from buying any more, so searching for a better alternative for my vaping habits. Still haven't found anything I like better than the un-sealed diamond autos. OTOH, my hubby doesn't like autos, and rarely inhales for more than a few seconds, so his is perfect for him.

Thanks so much for being the testing guru! I don't haunt ECF very much anymore, but I always come here when a new V4L product is released, and look for your posts. I won't claim to understand it all, but your willingness and ability to be methodical, report your findings, and answer questions appeals to me. You help me be a smarter shopper, and I appreciate it!

As promised, here are the voltage numbers of the auto DAV 1100mah with the 1.5ohm DC. Finished the 2.0ohm DC cartos as well yesterday, just need to organize my notes.

At full charge with 1.5ohm dc-

3.2- 3.23v
3.7- 3.71v
4.3- 3.94v
4.8- 3.94v

The amp limit on this unit was 3.0a, just like it's manual counterpart. So expecting very similar numbers across the board with the auto version.

Here are the voltage numbers after 1 hour, using it like a normal heavy vaper (3-5 puffs a minutes, used at the highest setting)-

3.2- 3.23v
3.7- 3.71v
4.3- 3.87v
4.8- 3.87v

No surprises here. As we can see slowed down my vaping amount in comparison to the manual test, hence the higher numbers. After 2 hours-

3.2- 3.23v
3.7- 3.68v
4.3- 3.77v
4.8- 3.77v

Still going strong. We see a little dip on the 3.7 setting as well this time around. 3 hours-

3.2- 3.21v
3.7- 3.62v
4.3- 3.68v
4.8- 3.68v

It was right around here started to really notice the flavor drop off, so decided to make hour 4 the last test before charging-

3.2- 3.21v
3.7- 3.52v
4.3- 3.57v
4.8- 3.57v

Needless to say still vapable for quite a few people, being a high voltage junkie though for me made more sense to put it on the charger.

Up next the 2.0 ohm DC carto tests (hopefully up today).

waylon.... even if you aren't a vaper like Morandir (the high voltage) there is a big advantage because different juices often have different "sweet spots". One can taste better at a lower voltage and another can taste better at a higher voltage. It depends on PG/VG ratio, flavorings, and your own preferences (TH, etc.). Even adjusting a little can make a difference. At least this has been my experience.

Thanks Lisa ! That makes total sense to me ,i just forget about all the tech stuff too much .Sometimes i need to remind myself of basics like i need to raise the post on my carto or battery when using my old 808's lmao ! I will consider it !
p.s. do we use the same slim charger ? and tanks only or cartos too ?

I know what you mean!

Yes on the slim charger. The site says you can use KR808 style tanks... as well as the usual cartos.

Sorry for the delay in posting this everyone. This past week has been.... Anyways, not only do I have the numbers with the 2.0ohm dc cartos to post, but also the 2.5ohm dc. Hopefully next week all will be back to normal... Without further ado-

Voltage numbers at full charge with 2.0ohm dc-

3.2- 3.23v
3.7- 3.72v
4.2- 4.21v
4.8- 4.28v

No change at all from the manual version on the 4.8v setting. Sets the table for the rest of these numbers, there's no performance drop off from the manual to autos, only a change in preference for how they activate. After 1 hour of use-

3.2- 3.23v
3.7- 3.72v
4.2- 4.20v
4.8- 4.20v

After two hours of use-

3.2- 3.22v
3.7- 3.71v
4.2- 4.07v
4.8- 4.07v

So far very similar numbers as I eluded to earlier. On to hour 3-

3.2- 3.22v
3.7- 3.72v
4.2- 3.94v
4.8- 3.94v

Still going strong, and again very similar to the results from the manual testing. Hour 4-

3.2- 3.23v
3.7- 3.70v
4.2- 3.79v
4.8- 3.79v

After 5 hours was no surprise as well-

3.2- 3.21v
3.7- 3.63v
4.2- 3.68v
4.8- 3.68v

Did the last run at hour 6-

3.2- 3.20v
3.7- 3.51v
4.2- 3.56v
4.8- 3.56v

On to the 2.5ohm DC testing....

Voltage numbers at full charge with 2.5ohm dc-

3.2- 3.23v
3.7- 3.72v
4.2- 4.21v
4.8- 4.45v

As we can see follows the same pattern as the previous tests, very similar to the manual version. Here are the results after 1 hour of use-

3.2- 3.23v
3.7- 3.72v
4.2- 4.21v
4.8- 4.37v

After 2 hours of use-

3.2- 3.23v
3.7- 3.72v
4.2- 4.21v
4.8- 4.30v

On to hour 3, just like with the manual, it's the first time we see the 4.2v and 4.8v voltages match-

3.2- 3.22v
3.7- 3.72v
4.2- 4.20v
4.8- 4.20v

Hour 4 is next-

3.2- 3.22v
3.7- 3.72v
4.2- 4.07v
4.8- 4.07v

Again no surprises based off the manual tests. Hour five would prove to be similar-

3.2- 3.23v
3.7- 3.71v
4.2- 3.89v
4.8- 3.89v

The pattern continues after hour 6-

3.2- 3.22v
3.7- 3.70v
4.2- 3.79v
4.8- 3.79v

Hour 7 would be the last test again-

3.2- 3.21v
3.7- 3.59v
4.2- 3.66v
4.8- 3.66v

Up next will be the testing with cool carts at 3.3ohms.

waylonjessi4ever - the slim charger works perfectly...I've tried mine with a tank, cartos and clearomizers from another company, and they all work well. I'm by no means an "advanced" vaper, but am LOVING the auto DAV thus far. Just did a lengthy review on my blog, but not sure if I'm allowed to post a link here. I spammed it on V4L's Facebook page though.

I received my auto and manual DAV Friday while I was at the smokeless lounge. Have to say I am loving this. Many here do not know but I am a serious mod ..... (over 70 mods). I can honestly say I have hardly used anything else all weekend. I went to a vape meet Sat and people were like why are you using this? Where is all your mods... I would just hand it to them and tell em to take a toot.... Awesome job on the Auto!!!!!! With a 3.5 ml tank its a almost seemless look.
