The combination of a Large Smileomizer and an Auto DAV XL, is something I've been hoping to see. Vapor4Life has been kind enough to send me these devices prior to the public release of the Large Smileomizer, for the purpose of this review. The Auto DAV XL is already available for purchase from Vapor4Life.

Understand, this is a LARGE setup, which is what I personally enjoy. When compared to some well known high-end mods, this dynamic duo performs closer than anything else I've used, and is far easier to use when on-the-go! These are strong statements based on 3 days of use, but these devices are the next logical steps for items I've already used extensively. I think this combination is sleek, and natural. My other mods have been a bit neglected since these arrived :D.

The new Large Smileomizer fits near seamlessly onto the Auto DAV XL. Any difference in diameter between the two would only be detectable by precision measurement. Terrific overall fit and finish. Compared to the Vapor Zeus Auto, the size is nearly the same in length, only larger in diameter.

Vapor4Life states that the Large Smileomizer has an e-liquid capacity of 6ml. According to my syringe, the most I can get into this thing is 5.9ml. Still enough e-liquid to last me a full day. The KR808D threading is smooth and threaded easily onto the Auto DAV.

Resistance is listed at 2.5ohms, with 0.2ohm variance. The Large Smileomizer I'm using rings out at 2.6ohms on the Fluke meter, making it well within specifications.

Construction of the Large Smileomizer is identical to the regular Smileomizer, utilizing a similar surgical grade silicone tip covering a metal tube stud, that threads onto the fluid chamber. The size of the tip is LARGER than the regular. To use this comfortably for any length of time requires a style adjustment to your "bite". Like its little brother, I would really like to see some additional options available to allow for a more user specific experience.

As with the smaller version, vapor production and flavor is superb. No performance drop-off whatsoever so far, putting right around 20ml's of e-liquid through it. The Large Smileomizer certainly has the potential to displace my favorite cartomizer tanks because of its excellent performance!

Also like the regular Smileomizer, air flow was initially restricted when using a 510-808 adaptor on 510 threaded devices. Like before, I was able to fiddle with it and get it to work. I spent a little time looking into this, as its the second time this has happened. The root cause is not getting the air flow channel of the Smileomizer lined up with the vent hole on the adapter. Easy enough to overcome.

The Auto DAV XL, stands alone at the top among its peers. Like my XL manuals the Auto version is 1300mah, providing all day functionality for me. I charged it using one of my existing original Slimline chargers without issue. The initial charge took just over 13 hours, with subsequent charges taking 11-12 hours. This is really too long, and needs to be addressed.

I'm most impressed with the Auto's switch performance. Absolutely no hesitation in firing at all. No "primer" puffs required. Just pick it up, give it a toot, and you get large plumes of vapor!

Variable voltage adjustments are made via the bottom dial, with a range of 3.2v to 4.8v. The knurled finish of the knob makes gripping the dial easy, and the clearly marked red indicator line easily depicts the voltage setting.

Like the other DAV's before it, the smooth, soft, somewhat rubbery finish is very comfortable to the touch, and easy to hold on to.

I've been trying really hard to find something about this combination that I think could use improvement. As of the time of these writings, I really can't identify anything substantial. The only real issue's are the charge times and drip tip options. All-in-all, very easy to use. Solid, robust construction. Plenty of capacity, for both battery and e-liquid. Variable voltage flexibility. Portability...Oh, the portability. I've taken this thing with me everywhere, and its been awesome! I've carried it every-which-way for extended periods, and not a single hint of a leak or a misfire. Just snatch it up, and vape! Dare I say the perfect vape?

Pricing for the Auto DAV is in the "Premium" category at $49.95. Considering the performance and coupled with an industry leading 1-year warranty, I'm quite satisfied with the value. Pricing for the Large Smileomizer is not yet available.

Overall Grades: (for the combo)
Style - A+
Performance - A+
Price - B
Function - A
Compatibility - B

Great review, thanks for the pics, too!

Thanks K9Luvr!

KY_Rob great open and honest review!

Gotta keep it real BHam :)
That charging thing bothers me, because all I can do is sit there and wait until the flavorful clouds-o-vape are flowing from it again ;)
