fskdc: Excellent! I hope you have similar results to mine and many others on here. It can still be a little to get used to, but it's overall easy!

Shadow2062: I do have one extra carto. Something fortunate for me though is I do have a local vendor that sells my cartos. They are a little bit more than ordering, but minus the shipping since I can't order a high quantity at the moment, it works out about the same for me.

And you can buy stuff locally. Lucky you! I wasn't even trying to quit, just keep craving down while at work. And I would notice how bad they tasted after work. About a week of both, I just gave them up, midday Sat. Which I saw someone else post here, kind of funny. Been a year, and happy to be free! Good luck and welcome!

Yes, I am happy about being able to buy locally. I hope to see more stores opening up around here and everywhere else too! Congrats on being smoke free!

Homing in on 4 months but well remember those first few days. I had under guesstimated my nic needs and bought 12mg juice. Managed to stop bar 1 a day.

Changed to 18mg within 4 days and that was it done.

Doesn't mean I forget just how nervous I was. How in the back of my head I really thought I would fail wasting the $120 I had put in at that point.

I didn't.

Actually to be honest it was easy. Just vaped my face off. Lol still vaping my face off.

After a few weeks I was seriously in the red regards vape hardware and juice but vaping had turned from just a way of replacing how I got nicotine into my system into a hobby. I just love the play factor and really cool toys.

After splurging on a VMod and a couple of ProVari's I calmed down for 3 months only getting a Reo when my VMod had to go in for repair.

Still learning something every day. Every day I pinch myself how lucky I was to find vaping as I never believed I would ever stop.

I spend my spare time playing with diy juices, hardware, bothering the good people on here, scouting vape stores and generally having fun that I would never have had if smoking. The money side of it is turning around slowly but to be honest I wasn't that bothered once I began to feel this was working.

Vaping is what you make of it. Hobby? Yep. Budget vaping? Yep. Stop smoking? Look at the posts here. Look at the increase of numbers. Look at how many new posters. Yes.

Have fun. Ask for help if you need it. All will be good.

Don't worry - the need / feeling / want for analogs will pass...When I started vaping my gas station kit (crappy) I was still smoking just about as much as before...Then with the mall kit it slowly started cutting back on cigs, I was still having a few a day until I got a clearomizer (better hit than the pre filled ones they sold) and then one day I just stopped! Went a few days without analogs and tried one I bummed off a friend and it was sooo nasty and not satisfying. Went another maybe 8 days and tried another (not sure why, just old habit) and it was even nastier, I couldn't even take more than 2 drags off it it.

And since getting my Provari I have not desire to smoke at all - I spend all my time vaping it and the thought of analogs is becoming a faded memory.

But anyway congrats - just don't buy any packs or singles, throw away your lighters, ashtrays and anything that reminds you of smoking and keep stocked up on charged batteries and juice and it's a breeze! Good luck :)

Great story! I started with the 18mg nic strength. It seems to be working pretty good. I was worried about THAT being too low and started to get the 24mg strength. The local vendor I went to suggested I try the 18mg first as he felt it would be good enough for me.

I am going to stick with my current set up and aside from the cartos and juice I need to buy I am going to wait until I have paid off my initial investment in my cigarette savings, then I will move into the hobby aspect of it. I definitely love "toys" and I can easily see myself getting into this for the fun of it.

I am technologically pretty competent and I learn very quick. I also love to tear electronics apart and see their insides! lol (I am not a serial killer  ) I have already had one carto that I burned up by not filling it enough on my first try (Noobs!) that I have ripped all of the insides out to see what is in there! lol

Cheers!

Excellent! Thanks for your information. BTW, I see you are from good ole' NC. I was born and raised in a small town between Raleigh and the coast (Washington). I have only been in FL for about 9 years. I miss the country!

@Jason and fskdc - just checking in to see how you two are doing? Hopefully all has been going well and you are hanging in there!

Hi there! Thanks for checking in on me. Well... I gave in today to be honest. I was out and about and ended up buying a pack of cigs.

On the good news front, I am determined to still quit overall. So, I am going to continue to wean myself as I started this past Saturday. It's possible that it is just too soon for me? I hope so. I have read that many people continued to smoke when they first starting vaping until they ultimately gave it up for good.

So, I am not throwing in the towel. I will beat this. Now, just may be a few more days.

We have all had set backs. When you are ready you will do it. Quitting is one of the hardest things I have ever done. And I know I'd still be smoking if I hadn't had vaping as an alternative.

I still get cravings but I vape like crazy and before I know it another day has gone by. Good luck and come back for support whenever you like!

Try using a higher mg in the A.M. Your "nicotine bank" so to speak has not had any deposits in 8 or so hrs so you are running on low.

This is what I did that finally worked for me. The very first day I used a higher nictoine level liquid I got through the early morning with no problem at all.

Thanks everyone for your support!

I only had 3 cigs yesterday, so I am proud of that accomplishment. I plan to do that again today.

In the morning, I am going straight to vaping instead of having that first cigarette that is "so vital". I will wait for a least an hour before I have the real cigarette just to break up the habit aspect of the morning cigarette.

I can definitely tell that as it gets later in the day I desire a cigarette less and less. Last night before bed I didn't really want that cigarette.

Anyway, thanks again everyone!

This is similar to my beginnings however, instead of "waiting at least an hour" I would "vape for at least an hour"! Lol!

Relax and Enjoy!

Don't give up, I failed the first time, then tried again this may and suceeded, what worked for my was keeping the ashtrays out (can't throw them away because they are family heirlooms, evenly they will go in attic) and a pack of cigarettes on the counter smoking was such a part of who I was for so long, that that was an issue so this way the stuff is around that way I think I am just having one in while instead just vaping like a train. This worked for me but I don't think it would for everyone just an idea.
