I gotta say...

Day 1 was soooooo damn hard, but some how I made it. I had trouble even getting out of bed because the thought of not smoking a cig was hard to accept. Today hasn't been as hard on me as yesterday but I still have the urge for a cig. Luckily I have you guys to talk to. I hope it gets easier and easier. I wont even go to the bathroom without my e-cig, but I'm actually feeling as if the vapor gives me a bit of a headache sometimes. Could it be just a sign of withdrawal from analogs? Anyone else have this same problem or something similar when they first quit? Anyhow... I gotta say thanks to ECF and you all. I dont know where I would be without this site :toast:.

It gets easier, but even if you slip and have 1 or 2 a day it isn't a big deal. Don't worry about never smoking an analog again, if you feel you really need one to get you through the day smoke one. One day you will find that you no longer need them, but there is no need to stress yourself over it.

I would get the headache as well, it could be withdrawl, or it could be you are getting too much nicotine. Make sure to drink plenty of water, vaping will dehydrate, and a headache can also be caused by dehydration. Dehydration is what caused my headache, once I started drinking more water those headaches went away for me.

The major key in the game of swapping over from cigarettes to ecigs is simple. Any time you get that sudden craving, vape, vape, vape! Inhale and blow it out slowly through your nose. That increases absorption of the nicotine in the vapor. You can also hold vapor in your mouth for a few seconds longer to increase absorption. The lungs aren't a major player in nic absorption versus the mucous membranes in the mouth, throat, and sinuses.

Try it. The urge goes right away when you attack it with the ecig sufficiently. Just vape a little harder when a craving hits. Day 2 is better than day one, and so on. It wasn't that long before I could actually vape around smokers, smell the cigarette odor, and not even think about it. If you get a little dizzy, you overdid it.

That, and knowing that if you give in, you have to start over! That was a biggy for me.

If you do find that the urge is too great, limit yourself to one or two cigarettes in the morning and one after each meal. It's easy to hold back until targeted times. Once you do that for a while, you will be able to quit cold turkey with the ecig and never look back. It's a process of lowering the toxins in your body to the point where withdrawal is not that hard. I and many others here used that method.

@MMA1985- I used to smoke at least a pack of Marlboro reds a day. I have been using Green Smokes 18 mg cartridges.

And Im going to keep in mind that If im really desperate for a cig it wont be the end of the world if I bum one. I just cant actually buy a pack. If I do i think its all downhill from there. But hey now that I vape I should also have some more cash in my pocket. Cigarette prices just keep going up!

As always, you guys are the sh**!
Thanks for the support

What I thought at first, then I got myself a Provari, then I got myself a Reo and I'm on the way for a lot more
But hey, who cares, at least, we keep healthy and I can play around with my mods. Who ever spent hours staring at an analog the way I do with my stab' Reo? :headbang:

You would find the whole transition process easier if you upgraded your ecig model to something like a KGO or an EGO Twist - something along those lines. You'll also need to find a juice that you really like, which may involve a lot of trial and error, but it's well worth the effort in the end. Also, your nic level may be too low.

Okay ya I used to smoke lights PAD and I found 18mg was perfect. I agree with VapingRulz about upgrading your set up. I had a cigarette look alike at first and it could not satisfy so I got a kgo which I quit smoking with and have been using it for almost a month and a half and loving it. Anyway whatever works for you. Goodluck!

My guesses, in order of likelihood...

1) Not drinking enough water
2) Not drinking enough water
3) Sucking too hard on the thing
4) Withdrawal symptom
5) Nicotine level too high

I put nicotine last because I would think if you were getting too much you would also be nauseous.
And also because 18mg is a pretty standard dose (in fact, possibly a bit low) for a PAD Marlboro Red smoker.

And if you are sucking too hard on it, try longer, slower drags.
And think of upgrading to a better model if you are using little stick batteries.
