Just curious...wickedmama has some juices listed for sale and she lists them as doublers. Is the flavor doubled or the quantity of fluid? I can't post In that forum yet :)

I have the Kr808D-1 with a manual battery and the blank cartomizers from the Cigeasy site. My first order of juice was from vaporbomb. Should I hear a popping and crackling sound in the cartomizer when I push the button?

About how many drops should I use when filling/refilling the cartomizer?

Where the heck did this gas problem come from?!?! It's not very ladylike. Is this a common side effect of vaping or of quitting smoking?

I'm not familiar with wickedmama but I get a lot of juice from tasty vapor. They created the term "doublers" from what I understand. They sell regular 1 oz (29ml) juice with 12-48 mgs of nicotine for the same price as their doublers. The doublers contain no nicotine but are twice the size for the same price as juice with nicotine. The thought behind it is why should you pay the same price for juice without nicotine as juice with nicotine, that's why they give you twice as much zero nice (aka doubler) juice for the same price.

I was under the impression (and could be wrong) that doublers are used to dilute regular juice if the nicotine content is too high. For example if you have some 36mg strawberry, you can add a 1 to 1 ratio of strawberry doubler and wind up with 18mg liquid with no loss of flavor.

The popping/crackling is just the coil heating the eliquid and is nothing to worry about. Gurgling, on the other hand, means you've over filled the carto. Most folks get around 20 drops in a carto, but "drops" are not a very accurate measure. I usually fill something around that many until the top looks like a slushy, then let it sit for a while to soak in. Then blow out any excess and let er rip.

I've heard gas is a side effect from quitting analogs, but have no personal experience with it (and my wife is grateful :) )

Yeah vaping can cause gas, Try not to swallow any vapor. Drink fluids.

Crackle and pop is good - when a carto is new and the coil is clean and working well and has juice, you may hear that. It is a good sound.

When adding juice, take it off the battery, I shake and open the juice. Carefully pop out the end cap, and I hold a bit of tissue on the threaded end hole. Tilt the carto and drip one drop at a time until it doesn't soak in quickly anymore. Then I stop. Then I clean up - make sure threaded end is dry and clean, blow into threaded end with open end down into tissue to clear air channel (I use blank cartos with central air channel from vapor4Life). if the top of the stuffing looks overly wet or puddled, I press a soft bit of tissue against it. Then cap and vape.

On a full fill of a blank it is similar except a full 18+ drops per ml of carto capacity needs to go in there. Then after cleanup, I lay the carto on different sides for 15-20 min to make sure every it of stuffing gets damp. If your juices have more than 30% VG then you make need a lot more time. if they are really thick then you need to thin them before filling.

Doublers are typically 0 mg juice used to cut unflavoured juice. They generally have twice the amount of flavour (hence the term) so that when cut 50 / 50 with nice juice you do not loose any flavour. So if you had 48 mg nic and mixed at 50 / 50 with a doubler, you would have a nice flavoured 24 mg mix to vape.

The doublers do not contain nic. You mix the doubler with a higher strength liquid to cut the nic down to your level. It's a good way to save if you love some of their juices. Buy a doubler, and a 48mg liquid, and mix it down to what you normally vape.

Example: Buy atomic cinnacide doubler and then a bottle of 48mg...pour them together. You then have 90ml of 24mg juice to vape yourself happy with.

Here is a easy chart to reference for mixing nicotine flavored liquids with zero nicotine doublers. I used it when I don't feel like doing math. I copied this off of another post.
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/tasty-vapor/91656-tasty-vapor-faq.html

If you start with 48 MG E-liquid
36 MG = 3 parts e-liquid + 1 part Doubler
32 MG = 2 parts e-liquid + 1 part Doubler
24 MG = 1 part e-liquid + 1 part Doubler
16 MG = 1 part e-liquid + 2 parts Doubler
12 MG = 1 part e-liquid + 3 parts Doubler
9.6 MG = 1 part e-liquid + 4 parts Doubler (mixing the whole bottles of each together)

If you start with 36 MG E-liquid
27 MG = 3 parts e-liquid + 1 part Doubler
24 MG = 2 parts e-liquid + 1 part Doubler
18 MG = 1 part e-liquid + 1 part Doubler
12 MG = 1 part e-liquid + 2 parts Doubler
9 MG = 1 part e-liquid + 3 parts Doubler
7.2 MG = 1 part e-liquid + 4 parts Doubler (mixing the whole bottles of each together)

If you start with 24 MG E-liquid
18 MG = 3 parts e-liquid + 1 part Doubler
16 MG = 2 parts e-liquid + 1 part Doubler
12 MG = 1 part e-liquid + 1 part Doubler
8 MG = 1 part e-liquid + 2 parts Doubler
6 MG = 1 part e-liquid + 3 parts Doubler
4.8 MG = 1 part e-liquid + 4 parts Doubler (mixing the whole bottles of each together)

If you start with 12 MG E-liquid
9 MG = 3 parts e-liquid + 1 part Doubler
8 MG = 2 parts e-liquid + 1 part Doubler
6 MG = 1 part e-liquid + 1 part Doubler
4 MG = 1 part e-liquid + 2 parts Doubler
3 MG = 1 part e-liquid + 3 parts Doubler
2.4 MG = 1 part e-liquid + 4 parts Doubler (aka mix the whole bottles of each together)

supposing i already have 24mgs, can i get a bottle of double, mix them to get 12mgs?
will the flavor be over powering?

thanks

If it's the same flavor you're diluting it should work. It'll probably change the PG/VG ratio though. For example if your juice is 70pg/30vg and you add a doubler that's 100% VG, the ratio will change as well as the nicotine level.

I got 12 mg. & 24 mg of the same juice and mixed them that way. For my Mom I order 12 mg and 0 mg and get 6 mg. It's probably more expensive, but where I get the juice they don't offer doublers.

Thanks for the explanations and the instructions!

I have ordered several 5 ml 24 mg flavors to try. I do think the 24 mg might be too high for me. I will look into the 0 nic juice to dilute a little.

Have you started vaping yet? Since they're only 5 ml bottles, you may want the 24 just to get off cigs (or maybe not). You can quickly reduce the nicotine level the longer you vape- but sometimes people need somewhat higher when they first start. You may not, and it may be too strong for you then definitely reduce it. I'd give it a try first.
