Day 5 of Vaping and a question

Thanks everyone for your feedback, I really appreciate it. I do want to find my sweet spot, and figure it out, not just for me, but also for my DBF, who has hit mine a few times and coughs up a lung and doesn't think he's going to like the Ego-C I ordered for him. He's doing ok on his Safe Cig Micro, but I just don't believe in the long run, that's going to be satisfying for him. And it's just darn expensive for the re-fills (with carto's that seem to be proprietary threaded and non-refillable from my research on them).

His Ego-C is due to arrive today - my fingers are crossed I can convince him that vaping on it is much more satisfactory than the analog like e-cigs he's using now - though, truth be told, if they work for him and keep him off real analogs, I'm happy, even if the Taurus in me believes that my way is better! LOL

Good Luck rabernet!! The best e-cig is whichever one keeps you off those analogs. Have fun finding your all day vape, and be sure to give us a yell or two along the way. When you find it, shout it out again just to share....we love that!

My question - I think my technique might be off. I slowly pull in the vapor, like sucking a straw like I've read described, and I sort of let it settle in my mouth some so that I can experience the flavors, and then try to inhale, but I end up choking myself to death on the inhale. Even when I just pull the vape in my mouth, and slowly let it out, that last bit leaving my mouth tickles my throat.

I experience this exact same thing. It lasted about 7 days for me. I'm on day 14 now and have no problems. Might I suggest sticking it out a few more days and see if it doesn't go away. I too was a 1.5 PAD. I use 24 mg now with no problem. I was worried I was allergic to the PV, but now that the problem disappeared I think it was just an adjustment issue.

rabernet - have DBF puff it like a cigar ..... you can still get the "taste" (actually I think it's mostly smell) and a bit of a nic burn on your tongue. That may get him at least on speaking terms with a PV for now.

It helps having local when you are starting at it reduces time for delivery greatly and he will try and help you with figuring some things out and making suggestions. Also, his juices are organic and natural and taste great. I had a friend who helped me start out, but the second stage was all Vaperite, as Todd always helped to answer questions and try to work through problems.

Just a suggestion.

I guess that does make it harder. I work from home and I am about 15 minutes away so it makes things easy for me. Used to work in Alpharetta and hated it. Just curious, what line of work are you in?

I'm another complete noob (day 4) and am still waiting for my new kit (dse908 from Word-Up) and my e-liquids to arrive (tomorrow or the next day)....but I've been wondering about technique for manual batteries? The trial kit is started with (a real P.O.S.) has an automatic battery, so no probs there....but after reading forums and consulting a friend I ordered my kit with manual batteries. I'm curious if you push the button as you start to inhale or maybe push it a bit ahead of time to allow the atty to begin warming the cart before the inhale begins? Is there any difference other than just pushing a button vs not pushing a button when it comes down to using them? (thanks to the forums I understand the "sealed" manual vs "not sealed" auto battery issue, I'm just wondering about the "brass tacks" of using the manual battery vs the auto).
Thanks for all the advice and suggestions everyone provides on these forums....I'd be lost without ECF right now.

I usually push the button as I am lifting my pv to my lips, then I inhale, letting a trickle roll down the throat. After a few seconds let off the button and pull a little bit more then final inhale and exhale, rolling the vapor off the roof of my mouth, very similar to smoking a cigar.

I'm still new to vaping, and that was a little too much for me

Dont forget to pull a little after taking finger off of button and try to roll off top of mouth, really brings out the flavor. It is a trick I learned from cigar and pipe smoking several years ago!

I am using the whimpy "1-2" method ..... I push the button as I draw (can I type "s*ck"?) only into my mouth for "One-one-thousand", brief pause, then into mouth only again for "Two-one-thousaaaand", let off button and inhale .....
I can't handle much TH yet.

I find that when I first wake up, I have to take smaller puffs. As my throat and lungs get used to it, the inhale gradually increases. It takes time and practice before you find an inhale and vape method that you enjoy.

I had a friend that started me off and I still had allot of tinkering to figure what works for me. Also, I have backups now. I mostly drip, but when I hit one of those blah nothing is working days, I grab a cartomizer or my tank and throw that on there and it eases the pain. Still have a pack of unopened analogs on the desk, no intention of opening them.

That stuff is too strong, I was on strong juice when I first started out and got a little bit of a sore throat and then I got some much milder, gentler stuff. I am vaping PG Primo Cigar from VaporKings at 6mg now and even though I probably vape more frequently than I smoked I no longer get any sore throat. I burned up a ton of attys at first trying to suck the life out of my e-cig in an effort to replicate my smoking experience but vaping is actually a far more efficient nicontine delivery system and I usually only need a few puffs instead of the full 3 minute session I was accustomed to with an analog cigarette.

Coughing is a very common symptom when beginning to vape. I coughed so much initially and thought, my goodness, how does anyone enjoy this, let alone stop smoking for it!!!

Tell you what though. Coughing from vaping is a lot more comfortable that coughing from smoking

Vaporize eliquid is great! They taste wonderful and the customer service is awesome! The best thing to do though, and it's bard sometimes when you want to try a new juice, is to let them set for a week or three. I had tried a couple I thought I didn't like and after finding them a month later I tried them again. The difference was amazing! They came into their favor and now I do the same with all my juices. The tabacco flavored Madagascar is smooth and yummy! Try Vaperite, you won't be disappointed.
