So, I got my Ego in yesterday with my menthol liquid and now starting day 2 of being analog free! I'm curious to see how hard it was for some of you going from smoking to vaping.

I've heard mixed emotions, some people saying it was very easy, others saying it was pretty tough getting past that first week. As for me, I am kind of in the middle so far. It is only day 2, but I still crave an analog and have to tell myself no, but it is not NEARLY as hard as cold turkey or other methods I have tried.

So, I think and hope I will be successful because right now it's very manageable just vaping and not reaching for an analog. I have one analog left from yesterday when my PV came in and I have not touched it. I am not going to throw it away, or give it away. I am going to leave it right there because I'm not going to force myself not to smoke, I want to not smoke because I want to.

How was your experience?

Hi, and good luck.

I stopped for a week before I got my first, completely rubbish, e-cig. But even though it was, completely rubbish, it was a god send.

My story might not help you very much, I was determined not to smoke again and now haven't for 17 Months and have upgraded to a mod and am very happy with it.

All I can offer is encouragement, plus in about a week you'll be OK and also hate the smell of the stinkys.

What nicotine level did you get to start with? I had to use the 36mg for a few weeks. There are times of stress that I didn't put my PV down. It gets easier when those times come though. Don't worry yourself too much if you do smoke a cig. It just makes vaping that much more satisfying when you do it instead. We are here for you also, a great forum to come to when things get rough or just to talk it through! Congrats!

I smoked and vaped for a couple of weeks. After I upgraded to my Riva 510, for 2 or 3 more days, I smoked 3 or 4 analogs a day, in addition to vaping. Then I decided to "make the break" from analogs. For me, it was quite difficult for about 4 days, then it got much easier. I had to increase my nicotine content also. There are still several times when I crave analogs and the 1/2 pack of cigarettes in my desk occasionally call to me. I have been smoke free 55 days and am determined to stay that way. I, too, hope I get to the point where I'm not wanting an analog.

Congrats!!

I used to smoke roll your own. When I got my e-cig I had just a little tobacco left. I would alternate between smoking that in my pipe and the ecig. This lasted two days till it was gone. I went straight e-cig after that. About a week later I picked up a cigarette just to see the difference. two puffs and I threw it out. it was nasty and harsh and tasted bad.

Keep at it, you'll get there. Once your body doesn't need the cig smoke anymore it wont want it. Your body will let you know and having the e-cig there, you'll be able to make the choice to use it instead much easier. Those cravings will go away so they wont torment you.

My e-cig arrived while I still had half a pack of analogs. I started charging the e-cig and figured I'd finish of the analogs by the end of the day and start fresh on e-cigs the following morning.

About an hour later I noticed the battery was charged so I decided to try it out, even though figuring I would still be smoking for the remainder of the day. One drag and I knew instantly that the e-cig would work for me. I gave away the rest of my analogs to a smoker (who I've since converted, by the way!).

I started with 24, but found out that was too high for me. I was smoking full flavor menthols at a pack and a half a day, but 24mg nic. was too high. I got nic. overdose from it and couldn't take a vape but maybe once every 30 minutes. A couple people helped me out on that thread, and i diluted it a bit and I am fine now. I think my magic number is 18mg... so I bought some more juice at 18mg and I think that should do the trick.

Capers, I am working on converting my roommate at the moment. He says when he gets paid on friday he is going to get an Ego as well and make the switch with me. That's actually a good thing for me as well as him, because I am going to refer him to Liberty Flights (where I got mine) as an affiliate and I will get discounts and bonuses :D.

Thanks for the insightful replies all!
