dct and head space

so i picked up a dct tank and thought i filled it properly. primed it with the top drip method until it looked fully saturated. could see juice in each of the slots in the carto. then i filled the tank using my stiletto drip tip like a slap yo mama. got it pretty full, small air bubble at the top. i was vaping along and then got a sudden dry hit. my question is, should i have left a bit of head space in the top to prevent a vacuum lock or is it possible i hit too hard for the 2 slots to keep up?

Hard to say based on the info you shared. It's possible you still hadn't primed the carto enough. Vaping technique (too hard) can mess up proper wicking of juice from the tank to the carto.

originaly, i followed your guide 90% to the letter, i did fill the tank pretty full, only a very small air bubble at the top. when i primed the carto it was fully saturated. even had 3 or 4 drops come out the 510. i have attached a pic of my cartos, not sure what company makes them, i got them in little cello bags. the slots are cut on both sides.
