This may be old school to some but I just kind of stumbled onto it myself.

Most of us are familiar with priming a carto prior to use regardless of whether it will be used in a tank or not.

I love the ease, the "setup and forget" feature of DCT's. Prime the carto, fill the tank, and you're off, only being bothered to top of the tank occasionally when needed. Using the 3.5ml tanks, I tend to have to refill the tank maybe once or twice a day.

Here I was on about the 4th - 5th tank refill of the same carto and when I pulled the drip tip to slide the tank up I noticed the top of the carto filler material was a little dry. Much dryer than when first primed of course.

So for giggles I put a few drops down the carto shaft, then filled the tank, and then put a couple more drops down the carto shaft holding at an angle and rotating it so the juice would run down the sides into the filler material.

Basically what I had done was completely reprimed the carto including blowing out any excess. I figured, what could it hurt? To my surprise this resulted in a noticable increase in flavor that continued to last for quite some time. Wish I would have thought of this before I ran out of Boba's.

Apparently sitting submerged in the DCT will keep the carto wet enough to vape pretty well but the filler wasn't wicking the juice from the tank all the way to the top of the carto.

As an alternative, with my other two 3.5ml tanks that I didn't have the juice bottles for with me, I slid the carto down inside the tank just barely enough to let a little juice spill into the carto top. Did the little spin thing to spread it around down the sides, blew out any excess, and enjoyed the same flavor boost on my other two tanks.

I'm thinking this is going to become my regular practice. Repriming the cartos whenever I refill the tank to keep my vapes at their peak of flavor.

Now I'm not sure about all brands / models of cartos. Some may wick sufficently to keep the entire length of the carto moist with juice, in which case this practice wouldn't be needed of course.

I hope this info can help some others to enjoy the absolute best vapes available with their DCT's and favorite juice!

It sounds like you're not replacing the rubber carto seal after you first prime it. It does a lot to prevent dryness, so I'd be interested to hear if you still get a significant benefit from priming the carto every fill while vaping with the seal intact.

Are you talking about the little white rubber "donut" that cartos come packed with? I'm pretty sure those things are meant for the garbage when using a drip tip... Not even sure how you'd fit in a tip with the "donut" at the same time.

The donuts that come with a DCT carto are thin enough to fit in the carto with a drip tip. However if you are buying your carto's and punching them yourself they may not come with these. Both of the tanks that I purchased came with these in the original carto. Good tip! I found this to help even with the little rubber seal guy replaced. I just couldn't get them to stop leaking and flooding, so now I use phoenix's and Vivi's and rarely have issues leaking and flooding. Unless I leave a freshly filled phoenix on its side:p

Thanks for the tip. I bought a saddle valve so i can widen the 2 pre punched holes on my cartos. It really helps the flavor and vapor production. The pre punched holes are wayyy too small for my vacuum lungs, so the cartos tend to taste dry when vaping. Go to home depot. For less than 10 bucks, you can have your own little tool to punch bigger holes. :)
