De-bridged 510 question?

Hey guys, I debridged an old atty of mine and am enjoying the fruits of my labor, but i had a question. When i put 2 drops on the coil, i get great vaping for a few puffs, then it gets dry, or stops producing vapor completely. This leads me to believe that i need to add a drop or 2 more, so i do and then it floods. I know they say that once the white ceramic part is full, thats it, but theres an oval hole right under the coil so it drains through some. Ive noticed if i unscrew the atty and blow through the thread side, i get a couple more hits off it.

you are flooding the atty. try it with just one drop instead of two. without the bridge and the extra mesh, there isnt much area there to store the juice. i have found with de-bridged 510's that two drops will flood it every time, except right after you give it a good blow-out to get rid of all the excess juice.

for now, try this. blow out your atty. clear out all the old juice from inside it. put two drops in and count to ten. when that is vaped dry, put one drop in and let it drip down the side instead of directly onto the coil. count to three and vape till dry again (YMMV but i get about 4-6 drags from each drop). you will taste it when its getting dry. repeat with just one drop till you clean out the atty or blow it out again.

I find that I can't do without the wick when debridging a 510 atty. without it, liquid drains away too easily and you never get more than a 1-2 puff. Then I end up frustrated, drip again and just flood it. What I've done to improve my debridged attys is stuff some spare wick to the side of the coil. (no more than 1/4" worth) I sourced clean wick from a dead clearomizer. Now I get good pull, great vapor and taste, and I can always remove the wick to examine the coil when it starts tasting bad or when cleaning is due.
