So one of my Ego batteries won’t power my atties this morning. The LED lights up as usual, but no vapor. I know it’s the battery because my other battery works fine on the same atties. I’ve only had them for two months. Am I SOL, or is there some warranty on them?

Ug… guess I gotta pump more money into this vaping business. Frustrating.

I've had differnt batteries that I thought screwed come back to life simply using a spacer/adaptor. Even if the battery is sealed, I prefere to use a 510-510 adaptor to prevent connection "mess" with juices in the contact point and rather clean the adaptor to atty end nightly.

You cld also "try" gently turning the slotted pin end of the atty "very slightly" counterclockwise and see if it makes a better contact and works properly, since most contact pins are held in place by silicone or delrin to insulate them from shorting on the battery housing (-) they tend to move after multiple use.

Thanks.

So I tried wiggling the post and even pulled it out a bit to ensure contact with the atomizer. Still nothing. I pulled the post right out and it's still wired up, so I dunno what the issue is. LED still works. Sigh...

Maybe I just need to go for broke and get a XL EGo battery, a passthrough, and a Silver Bullet.

Yeah I tried 3 different atties.

I do have a multimeter at home that I'll test it with this evening. Don't mean to be a drag, but it's dissapointing having to spend so much money. I'm already in this for $600 :|

Guess I just need to suck it up and focus on the health benefits instead of the benefits to the wallet.

So my other battery won't work either. What are the odds. I lost one battery on the weekend. And then within in 2 days both my other batteries are done. They are only 2 months old! WTF.

I'm trying not spaz, but I have no batteries, and I'm sitting here boiling like a cauldron. Are all Ego batteries s*** or just the ones I got? So I guess it's back to analogs until my order from NFN gets here.

Sorry to hear of your bad luck I have around 7 joye ego batts in rotation some from one of the first
Batches in Canada and they all work fine some if the der ones may not hold a charge as long as they use to but work and all have been used with only low resistance Attys since last august which many say will cause problems. I even soaked one in a sink of water for about 5min a few weeks back and it's still working great. I guess it's probably just luck of the draw but I hope you get your issues all worked out without have to resort to cigarettes. If I was near I'd give you a batt to get you through.

Yeah I dunno what's wrong with them. The charger LED, for example, doesn't even change from green to red when screwing it on anymore.

I haven’t been smoke free for the past two months. I’ve bummed a few when drinking. I just haven’t bought any in two months. Just gotta think it’s a minor setback, and nothing more. I think I’m mainly just aggravated with my luck, and how much money I’ve spent.

Seems to me Murphy’s Law plays an important role in my life. In fact, I bet I’m secretly a scientific experiment designed in a secluded mountain laboratory by Murphy himself. Kind of like Wolverine, only way less cool. Just can never catch a break. However, I did win a Super Crocodile Mile when I was 12… clearly a fluke.

Gotta hate Murphy's Law!

There is a site called "battery university" - a tech tell all on batteries. I think it's an invaluable resource for vapers. Printed here is the link on battery longevity.

it's funny how things go. I was chatting to sparky. he says to me, be careful of those mega cartos, he's had one melt a hole through the casing side and leak juice in his pocket. mine split on the side about an hour later....

Haha, eGo carto jinx! I had that happen to a few of them while I was out at work, ended up just wrapping the carto with electrical tape and continuing to vape on it. I pulled a few apart with the Dremel later, didn't see any scorched filler; just the coil got hot enough to melt the side plastic.

The eGo cartos don't seem to be very popular lately; I'm having a hard time finding them for sale on sites that used to sell them. I have about 100 of them lying around still in case the apocalypse comes... Boge ones are much nicer.

If anyone's got a Leo, try the new 4ml Boge cartos out - electrovapors carries them. They're consistently awesome. I carry 2 with me during the day, they get refilled at night when I'm home. They're real decent, but you need a Leo battery to run them, they're a proprietary thread. They put out a lot of vapor too!

Er, for some on-topic content: all 3 of my eGo batteries from last September are still functioning, it's odd that yours has died quickly.. that's very nice of Vaporskitchen to warranty them for you!

I thought I saw you post in another thread that your batteries had a blue light - as far as I know, Joye eGos have a white led, do they not?

The Joye eGo I have here has a silver band and a hard clear button, makes a white light when I press it. I've heard Riva batteries have a gold band with a rubbery button that glows blue. Might be a different manufacturer, "ego style" battery?

Were you able to check the batteries with multimeter? As others have expressed, it seems like the contact issue and I also think that the battery was charged because 1) charging light stays green and 2) when you press the button the light goes on. My ego batts are more than 6 months old and working fine (the clear plastic/light on them does have a blueish tint). Please share your testing with the multimeter. I hope you get them working again.
