I found these 18650 3000mah, 20 amp batteries by YCDC for a really good price. I probably would not risk using them in a mechanical mod, because I never heard of YCDC. Question is would they be ok to use in a regulated mod?

I agree with the previous posters - no deal. Not only is it not much of a deal in the first place, it's absolutely not worth the risk. The CDR might be 20 A, or it might be 300 mA. They might be rewrapped batteries from a reputable maker, or they might be from a Chinese factory with no quality control. You might wind up with batteries that work. Or batteries that don't work. Or batteries that blow up your mod, you and your surroundings. Why find out when it's so easy to get something reliable?

I wouldn't do it. I buy only from reputable vendors and only name brand. The problem with rewraps is you never know what you're getting. They might be good batteries. Or not. They might even be different, so quality will vary within lot numbers. I just don't risk it. Batteries are cheap compared to faces.

You do understand there are many many sources of counterfeit cells. There are more counterfeit sold through ' bargain ' sites than authentic.
No telling what you'll receive unless you deal with a recommended reputable vendor.

The very last place to try to save a few dollars in vaping is the cells we use.

Stick with one of the recommended suppliers on mooch's list.
I gave the link to where I purchase cells in my previous response.

Start reading.

Moved to Batteries and Chargers from General Vaping Discussion.

Always buy known batteries from a TRUSTED source.
Those 'tootsie roll' batteries should be about $6 each...
If a battery is really cheap - it's probably really counterfeit - and dangerous to use.

Of all things, never cheap out on a battery.
