Dealing with the A7

Just so everyone understands the purpose of this thread...this is not a sales pitch nor a bashing of a product. There are many who don't like this atomizer and many who do. The idea here is to keep this center post wobble thing up front so those who buy this rba understand how to modify it so they don't short their Reos or any other device for that matter. I personally don't own one but I've seen several instances where folks had just received their first Reo and immediately shorted it due to this issue...which makes me feel badly for them because they didn't know this before hand.

I just thought your post needed to be seen again.

Hurting people's feelings because they can't afford the higher priced atty's is just plain wrong!

I feel like the child I once was that had to wear hand me down clothes and never had stuff when it was in style. It was not nice then to have kids pointing to what I had and knocking it. It is not nice now.

And I'll restate again that I've been using an A7, with the tweaks and fixes that have been articulated, and it's worked for me with no trouble at all. It's a totally workable RBA if used with care.

So, I haven't been here in awhile but noticed this thread- seems the carto condom method is the one that every one has taken to. I didn't like it because of the lack of air flow. What I found was the center post (at least on my A7 mini's) was loose...it couldn't be tightened when it was out the distance it should to work on my Reo's. Just squeezing that center post (it's hollow with threads) just a tiny bit (I know it will make it less circular), gives it just the girth to tighten in and not wobble. I have fixed both of my A7's this way it it works very well!!

Or you could drill a side hole then the mini breaths well and then put a complete gasket around the pin Perfect solution IMO

And someone put a small piece of kanthal inside the female threads then screwed the male,part back in to tighten everything up.

That only works with a drill press. Or some serious hand drill-fu.

I find it easier to just turn the centre/center post clockwise as far up as it will go. No wobbles then. ty Nerak for that.

No bro, it's not that I don't like it. I have never tried it. It just seems too prone to issues for me to have tried it. As long as there are better options out there, I will use them. If I had no choice but the A7, I'm sure I would make it work. I just prefer for stuff to work right with minimal thought or checking. It's not just with vaping. I live by it.

With all due respect the A7 has more wicking power than the Reomizer and the ERA in that you position the coil over the hole and than you have the Wicking material at the bottom soaking up the excess squonk and feeding it to the Atomizer. You can go longer between squonks.

The wicks on my Reomizer and my eras and chalices and hornet all lay on the bottom as you suggest. The wicking is all the same in all of them if the same wick material and size of wick and coils is the same.

With warmest regards: holy shi t that's some amazin wicking, but damn, that wobbly centerpin could short my REO = not for me, but thank you. I'm not much into juice pools and long wicks anyhoo. I like to squonk my REO and wet the coil. My wicks are only there cause it tasted real bad with nothing in the bore of the coil when I tried it.

The RM2 for the win. If you wanna chit chat about a Rebuildable Atomizer that vapes as good as an RM2 AND has center main drain / juicehole that drains so well it'd scare ya, let me know. I've got a couple of those, but prefer my RM2s cause they vape just as good and their so much fun to build.

THANK YOU for making this thread and all the participants. I dont have a REO but have an a7 and absolutely hated it.

Thanks to the center post fix no more shorts. Also drilled a hole in it, managed to mishape the top cap but was able to bent it back. Got a little too crazy with a vice. Got a dual coil setup on it and it hits hard

Here's a tip I discovered when I got my second A7. I never had a problem with the first one, everything fit together nice and tight. The second one, though, was very loose unless I screwed the post way into the 510. I took then both apart and compared and found the 1st one (nice and tight) had a super tiny washer around the center screw allowing it to seat lower. If you wrap the post with a bit of wire it would act as a spacer allowing the post screw to seat lower in the 510 and won't restrict airflow. Just make dag-on sure that wire isn't loose and the end touching the side wall. 28g would work well and hold it's shape better.Meter-test with it screwed nice and tight and if it checks out you should be good to go!

Edit: to make it easier (and safer) take the coil housing out of the bottom cup when doing this. That way you can see and feel to make sure the wire "washer" stays where it's supposed to be before you put it all back together. Btw, it's been a while since I've read this thread so sorry if I'm repeating someone else's findings.
