From Wikipedia on NikolaTesla

On 30 July 1891, at the age of 35, Tesla became a naturalized citizen of the United States. He told many of his companions that he valued the citizenship more than any scientific honors that he had acquired.

He might not have appreciated being categorized as not an American. Good to know for future contests that naturalized citizenship doesn't count. I'm glad I put my Tesla entry in before I read about him.

Thanks for contest Imeo and good luck to everyone in the lottery.

Tesla was serbian, citiyenship is just a peace of paper which you aquire when you need it so you can do your business... and we all agree that he was smart guy ;)

I don't have time to translate his letters which he was sending all the time to his family. ;)

a piece of paper lol..... its called USA citizenship and go take the USA test and see how hard it is

Tesla was so far ahead of his time, it literally drove him insane. And don't get me started on all the ways Edison walked all over Tesla and took total advantage of him.

Dude invented wireless electricity trasmission! And we are only JUST NOW starting to utilize it. Boggles the mind what Tesla did (and never got the proper credit for).

@boardopboy, and that is probabl the main reason for the citiyenship, so he can protect his rights.

Don't get me wrong, but how hard can be to learn about 400 years of history? :) In our educational system, we learn that in first two grades.

lol You should ask Imeo how do we count these things in this part of the world, in our countries... you can take which ever citiyenship you want, but you will always be Greek... or Serbian... you would be citizen of the States, but citiyen which is Serbian.

But this is not the topic. And I do not doubt in Imeo.
