I am going to assume you're talking about MVS's Mvari-stick.

This is a fine device, I own one from another vendor also know as a version 1 Lavatube.

The thing is, there is a newer version with a few upgrades, more total power output capabilities, a streamlined body, a battery life indicator, and a meter to measure the resistance (in ohms) of your atomizer or cartomizer. This upgrade is available many places for roughly the same price as the unit you are looking at.

I have been happy with my version one since January, but I use it only occasionally these days due to a few other toys I picked up this last month.

I would suggest trying the eGo twist, as I have heard many glowing reviews from reputable vapers with more experience than me. However, if you are looking to get in to a type that takes batteries and isn't a battery in one unit, do some research on here in the APV section (advanced personal vaporizers). There is a lot of amazing information in there, and many funny arguments. I can't emphasize the importance of looking past opinions to the information that is important to you and what you want.

Please note I am not pushing any one product or another, but as a 2 year vaper I remember starting out and buying a few things that just didn't do what I wanted or expected because I didn't do the work first. Do the research and it will pay off!

If you want a simple vv, get the twist, it's a great product. Altsmoke sells them for $22.99 for the 650mah and $25.99 for the 1000mah. http://altsmoke.com/ego-c-twist-variable-voltage.html When you register with them, you can use coupon code FIRSTORDER for 10% off.

If you want a more advanced vv that you can change batteries with, get the vtube from Apollo ecigs. They are $53 after the 30% off coupon. They are as close as you can come to a provari for the price.

Go with the twist. You can't beat its performance for the price. There are areas it even outperforms the sacred Provari and it's cheaper brother the Lavatube. The cheapest place to get them is at altsmoke. AltSmoke.com | Personal Vaporizers | Electronic Cigarette | Ecigs | AltSmoke.com | eGo-C Twist Battery Make sure you get a charger too if you don't have an ego usb charger.

If you must get one of those flashlight-sized APVs then the Apollo V-tube is the way to go. Apollo VTube Kit
You can get a coupon to bring it down to around the same cost as the Mvari. Upon checking YouTube I would advise against the MVari even though it looks ok. The reason why is because NO ONE has one to review and that scares me. I get that we are all pioneers of a new way to quit smoking, but you don't have to be a trailblazer with your own pocketbook. Don't take one for the team.

What resistance atomizers would be optimal for the eGo-C Twist? My dilemma is that I dropped one of my Riva 650mah batts and it's getting hot on the charger. I need a replacement batt, and also want to try VV, so I'm getting one Twist. I'm looking for an atomizer that will be good on either battery. Is 1.5 ohms a poor choice for a Twist?

No need for LR on a vv device. Get 2.4 -3.0ohm coils

Hex, yes the 1.5 WOULD work on your reg bat. Optimal on the VV well, you'ld have the devil's own time NOT blowing it up at the higher rates on the VV. 1.5's should not go higher than 3.7 volts or you risk blowing the coil. I've heard (and personally) pushed the 1.5 to 4.0, however, the atty's dont' last as long. Rec you go to 2.0. Will be slightly cooler on your regular bat and you can play with higher ranged settings on your vv.

Thanks for the input. I opted to just get the eG0-C Twist and some regular 2.2 Joyetech attys. Because they were cheap... about $49 shipped for 10 at VaporKings. I really prefer LR for my Riva but had to go with a middle ground til I can afford another VV setup.

Man, I hate the buttons on the eGo's though. The silent soft rubber one on my Riva is just perfect for me.

1.5 for the 3.2v area is good, 3.0 ohms for the 4.8v area.. It all depends on how much heat you want. The only difference between vaping at 3.2v with a 1.5ohm atomizer versus 4.8v with a 3.0 ohm atomizer is how much heat you get with your vapor. The actual vapor cloud would theoretically be the same. Some juices do react better to more or less heat, so having VV allows you to dial in what works for what you got. AFAIK the Twist doesn't have a safety voltage regulator so you gotta be careful to not put an LR atty on there and crank it all the way, or it'll pop your coil.

Here you can judge for yourself what resistance you like for your favorite voltage. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/tutorials/260292-selecting-cartomizers-match-your-battery-temperature-preferences-excel.html

The point is that using this chart you can see that, to my knowledge, no such atomizers exist with such high resistance that is safe to use on a Provari, Lavatube or a V-Tube at 6v. That's why the twist is awesome.

Yeah there's a button difference. It's all hard and clicky.
Anyway, as I said before this idea that LR is better isn't necessarily the case. That idea is propagated by people who don't really understand resistance vs voltage. It's kind of an old school belief that is a holdover from the old days of low voltage vaping. At higher volts, the 2.2ohm will give you the same vapor with more heat. That's why you'll need a 3.0 ohm setup (i like the Vivi Nova personally) to crank the Twist all the way up to max voltage.
