I'm a n00b and have only been looking things over for a day. If I keep looking and analyzing everything, I'm afraid I won't be able to make up my mind. Some reviews I've read seem to suggest that the e-Power 2800 / 18650 is a pretty decent model. Does anyone have any particular thoughts on this?

Also, the site (vaporalley) seems to suggest that I can choose from:
- 2 atomizers (2.5ohms) and 5 cartridges; or
- 5 pack of Dual Coil Cartomizers (1.5 ml and 1.7ohms); or
- 2 e-Power giant dual tanks (2.5ml and 1.5ohms)

I'm leaning towards the 5 pack dual coil as the resistance is lower which should allow it to draw a higher current through the device. I would appreciate some feedback on this, as I'm rather lost on it.

Last question, does anyone have any experiences with vaporalley? Is it a reputable site? I think there's a 5% coupon on the internet somewhere to further discount the cost of the products.

My hopes are that I can begin with this model, and modify it to meet my demands down the road by testing other eGo 510 compatible accessories.

I recommend E-Power 14650 from Hoosier because it is equipped with the blue LED switch electronics. There have been many issues reported with units equipped with the white LED electronics.

I have two, plus another in new spare parts.

E-Power From Smok Tech and HECS

The latest on the white LED switch issue...

The starter kits for E-Power 14650 are found in a variety choices. Some include an atty+cart, some are equipped with cartos. Whichever you choose, I recommend making sure that the E-Power 14650 is equipped with the blue LED switch. Call or e-mail the vendor first, if necessary.

The E-Power 14650 features 3.7V, inexpensive standard Li-ion batteries and excels with the Smoketech 1.7 ohm or 2.0 ohm LR XL cartos.

I love my e-power 14650. After the bungled ordering process and switch issue was taken care of, I'm VERY happy with it. Aside from it's ease of use, one thing that's great about this is the batteries are less expensive ($6) than most other pv batteries. Also, the unit comes in 3 parts so if you lose or break any of them, you just replace that part. And all three parts are pretty inexpensive. I bought a spare cone and body for $17 total. When I buy another switch, I'll have a second complete pv for less than $30.

The TrustFire protected blue works great in the E-Power 14650. The 1600mAh rating is probably exaggerated but I find that they run just as long as the 1050mAh rated Smoktech-supplied 14650s, if not longer. I use these with the Smoktech 1.7 ohm LR XL carto. The batteries don't show any sign of overheating during use and have held up just fine.

I purchased four E-Power 14650 batteries from Focalprice on December 10. They arrived within 10 days. These are protected TrustFire Blue 14650s. Two for $8.42. Free shipping.

Genuine TrustFire 2*3.7V 1600mAh 14650 Protected Rechargeable Li-ion Battery (Blue) EB289L - $8.42 - Affordable Batteries

I haven't personally ordered from them but a few of my friends have and didn't have any problems with their orders.

For your optiOns of what to get, I def wouldn't get the attys and cartridges bc cartomizers are alot better.
out of those choices I would get the 5 DC cartos. Cartomizers are a lot more consistant than atty+cartridge and they work great. Personally though I'm not a huge fan of dual coil cartos at the lower voltages, but you might like them. They are okay at 3.7V but I don't think their anything special. I sti
ll would get the 5 DCs though bc that's the best choice out of the options.
The Epower dual coils are nice too. I'm not sure why the website says they only hold 2.5ml bc they actually hold about 6ml of juice. They do work well, but I wouldn't get them to start bc you'd have to REALLY like a specific juice to use them bc they hold so much. You can always buy them later too.
If you do get the cartos, you should also buy at least one atty and a drip tip. Use the atty to test your juices before you fill a carto. Never fill a carto without trying a juice first bc then if you dnt like the juice you waste a carto.

I use a 14650 Epower an love it. Even with the smaller battery I still get at least a full day on one battery. The batteries and rePlacement parts are cheap. I've bought a spare switch but hasn't had to use it bc all my original parts are still working flawlessly.
The eGo Epower is nice and will give you great battery life. The only thing I don't like about the eGo-Epower is that the switch is part of the tube so it can't be replaced individually. The replaceable switch is what made me lean toward the Epower in the first place. So that's the only downside, but it's still a solid PV.

I also recommend getting some Ressurector cartos from CCV.they are the only carto I use on my Epower and they are awesome. They are 1.7ohm and hold alittle over 2ml of juice so they last a pretty long time. You could also use them in a carto tank and they will last even longer. They are single coil but produce vapor similar to a dual coil, plus they don't drain your battery like a dual coil does.

Goodluck with it!

Just to throw my :2c: worth in the mix. I just got my 18650 epower mod from Myfreedomsmokes yesterday and this thing is nothing short of fantastic and amazing. Comming from an inferno DCC tank setup user to this bigger longer laster powerfull battery is awesome! The battery life with the DCC tank setup is well over 10+ hours in a single charge.. Charging is fairly quick around 3 hours maybe a little longer. Battery prices are great 8-9$. The switch is identical to the inferno which is good means no problums ! I Press button i get clouds of vapor all day.. 5 button quick press to turn it on or off is great tho i dont use it.. Replacement tubes or just a spare are only 20$ so very affordable upgrade to anyone stuck with an old 1000mah or less e-cig and just wants a bigger battery upgrade without the need or want for Variable volts this is totaly the mod for you!
