I'll post up some pics later. It was actually way easier than I thought it would be.
I used a 5v .5 amp power supply from some forgotten electronic
device.
Then you just heat up a mixture of 70% white vinegar 30% hydrogen peroxide. I used a glass jar in the microwave.
After it's heated up almost to boiling put a copper fitting in the solution for 5-10 minutes. It will turn blue. Pull the fitting out (use chop sticks, I'm pretty sure you don't want this stuff on your skin.
Then attach alligator clips to the + and - wires on the power supply. Hook the copper fitting to positive clip and whatever you want to plate to the negative clip. Put both pieces in the solution and plug in the power supply.
I move the piece around as it's playing to get an even coating.
You can add a little but of
salt to help the plating process speed up.
I redid the plating last night and everything came out much better.
When you first pull the part out it will be dull and may have some darker looking sections, but with a little bit of polish it will look like a penny.
Whenever I get out of work I'll make a much guide on how to do it.
