When I used to brew my own lagers, I used a mini dorm fridge for lagering. Ideal temp for lagering is ~45 F, but fridges use timers now instead of thermostats. temp was always too low. So, I used an external appliance timer to shut power on and off to the fridge. I just set the fridge to the coldest setting, and fiddled with the external timer until inside temp was ~40 - 50 F and made the best lagers on the planet.

You could probably use one of those timers for a crock pot, too.

Still thinking. That center sounds fantastic. Eventually will replace left right as well. We pay pennies on the dollar for that stuff but it's first come first serve.

Been eyeing a few RTAs that if like to try. Have fuse Clapton coming to attempt first coils on. I don't spend a lot since it's be first attempt. Tried wicking my BBB rebuildable but didn't go so well. Too much cotton.
I've been working with the same rba (bbb) had to wick it 3 times before i didn't get any leakage but the flavor i got from it was just too good to stop trying. You could use coils you'd make yourself on it too,i just don't have wire atm so i'm using the premade .3 0hm coil. Wicking that thing is hard as the coils are extremely tiny but like i said, use your own coils in it, could save you a new rta (although if you do want one i was considering the serpent smm myself)

Hey @jfcooley if you are still jonsing for an RTA/RTDA, I have an Arrow that I accidentally bought with the Steampunk the first time as a kit. I vaped it, hated it, an it's been laying around feeling neglected.

If you want something else to start with/play with, I think this one's pretty easygoing if you like that sort of thing, it's just MAJORLY not in my league as far as DL intensity..

I'd be happy to send it, PM me if you are interested, except it may take me until Monday to get to post office and I also have to find all its bits and whatnot and package it up... I haven't heard much about the Arrow, so I can't speak to it's awesomeness or not, only it's lack of awesome for *me* heh. :) No worries either way....

Cowtown, USA. Where the West begins.
Actually aquarium supplies do sell water pumps, not the air type but an impeller to move water. A crock pot is good for heating water but it uses a lo med and hi and probably wants to boil the water. A crock pot plugged into a probe type temp controller may work. I'm thinking of warming up 3 or 4 60 ml bottles to 130 F.
Say, there's an idea...

The steep box has 60 w light bulb and a mercury temp switch to control the temp, high temp is 140 F when it turns off and back on at 110 F. The water bath is about 2 cups of water and the temp should remain more stable. I still have to divide the lower heating chamber from the upper chamber where the water bath will be.
