Hi guys, I'm VERY new at this, and need your help to identify my new toy. :)

Yesterday I bought the Ready vape 'Ego Elite Max' at a local tobacco store:

Ego Elite MAX Electronic Cigarette Starter Kit for retailers

I realize that this must be a knock-off of a well-known vaporizer... but which one???

Can I buy extra cartomizers from other brands? Will they fit?

One last question: the website stated: "Eventually the wick in the cartomizer burns out so we do suggest to replace the cartomizer every two weeks, also recommended for hygiene reasons."

Is that bullsh**, or do these things need to be replaced so fast???

Thanks! - Milazinha :)

Egos are made by Joytech. But it could also be branded, which is still genuine. I don't know, to be honest.

I am confused. The description states it comes with a CE4, which is a clearomizer, but you are asking about a cartomizer. They are 2 different things. A cartomizer lasts about a week or two, depending on how much you vape and type of juice you use. Darker juice, like coffee, is harder on cartomizers.

With a clearomizer, the wicks also need to be changed every so often. I have not used a CE4 so I do not know its duration.

Welcome milazinha to the ECF neighborhood,
Looks like a good starter kit, most kits are "knock-offs" of the original Joytech eGos. eGo is now a generic term for the same type of battery system. Looks like any eGo style carts/clearos will fit that battery, 510 or eGo thread.
Yes the coils/wicks do run their lifetime, but it depends on the usage....two weeks seems a bit....earlier. I have some Kanger BCCs that are going strong, no replacement after 47 days.
May want to think about a backup set for your set....have one charging, while vaping on the other.

Your eGo has Two threads on the End of it.

The Smaller inside thread is called a "510 Thread".
The one on the Outside is called a "eGo Thread"

You can put just Any Cartomizer on you eGo as long as it say that the Cartomizer has 510 Threads.

And you can either get Pre-Filled 510 Cartomizers. Or you can buy Blank 510 Cartomizers and Fill them Yourself. And Refill Fill them Yourself when they go Dry. Which is kinda Fast sometimes. LOL

Looking at the link, the CE4 seems to be rather standard. Most would call it a clearomizer not a cartomizer. I've used CE4s for several weeks (3-5 weeks). You will need to flush them occasionally (like after 3-4 refills) depending on how much your juice gunks the coil. One way to flush them is just run them under hot tap water, rinse and repeat several times until it looks clean...then allow to air dry, which could take a couple of days. I've also used vodka or everclear.

I've never heard the hygiene thing before. Sounds like a way to boost sales. PG is anti-bacterial I think. The very hot water or alcohol flush would also help with that.

Good news - that looks like a "standard Ego" battery, which means you get to choose from dozens of different attachments that hold the juice and "heating coil" that vaporize it.
If you do experiment, you'll eventually find what you prefer.
You can fill a "cartomizer" - just a tube with absorbant filling. Or you can try any of many types of "Clearomizer" - which is like a little tank that you refill.

I personally recommend a couple types for new vapers, perhaps the easiest and least expensive good one being the "EVOD".
They are pretty trouble-free, and the part that wears out is just the "coil" that you can get for about $6 for a 5-pak.
LOTS of online e-cig stores carry EVODS - you could get them from the place you buy more juice, too.
For instance, Mt Baker Vapor sells a huge variety of juice, and has the EVOD too...

Hi susieq,

Cartomizer, clearomizer... like I said, I'm very new to this, I don't know how things are properly called yet. :) Good to know which mine is now! Thanks for your help. :)
