a question did just occur to me, did anyone else's family have 'the great tinsel controversy'?

My dad and brother preferred to throw the tinsel at the tree and let it stay where it landed, while my mom preferred to lovingly arrange each strand. We settled with the guys throwing the tinsel and mom and I moving strands from the large clumps of tinsel into a more regular arrangement of shininess.

I've done both, depends on my mood at the moment

Do you know how easy it is when you find a gift, to pull the tape up, slide the box out of the wrapping paper, open the box and see what's inside and put it all back? Only thing left to do is work on your "surprise" face. Did that for years. Love all the remembering.

My niece not only opened/peeked/rewrapped all of her presents every year...........but the nosy lil schitt did the same thing with EVERYONE's presents, then wanted to tell em all what they got. lol At 40 something now, she's still just as nosy, and still a very good giftwrapper! hehehe

    Neat thread Classy.

Very pretty star and neat story tinyspark!

Well, we've got stories, and pic, so looks like we need a recipe! Every year I used to make my chocolate covered cherry fudge...cuz really, is there any better combo than that?

The recipe is the stoopit simple microwave one, I use
1-1/2 bags guittard milk chocolate chips
    Can of sweetened condensed milk

Nuke, stir, nuke, stir til smooth

    splash of vanilla
Then start smashin the cherries in. (easier than chopping plus all the juice goes into the chocolate). I just smash em between my fingers, usually in half.
Add some more cherry juice, cuz ya can't have too much

Put in pan, refrigerate. This part is a lil senseless, cuz this always has so much cherry juice in it, that it doesn't set up. Luckily for me, I have no issues eating fudge with a spoon (or straw if need be) lol

I learned not to give it to folks at church til AFTER the service though.......several simply couldn't wait and ate it all through the service, which was totally distracting to mama while she was preachin, cuz she couldn't have any yet. lol

Opening the other presents ain't so bad...it's the telling people what they got

For the most part, I could usually figure out what i was getting. I remember one time that i couldn't, and peeked...and it was a cool gift, but then there were no surprises under the tree at all. :( I don't mind spoilers for books and movies, but i do like the anticipation and surprise for gifts. :)

ROFL at the Peekers opening other people's presents ! Ohmagosh - that is just way to funny !

That chocolate covered cherry fudge sounds to die for !

You definitely gotta try some. super easy....and ohhhhhhh sooooooooooo good.

Jup Ces.......that was the worst part. The other kids all wanted to know at the time, then were disappointed when they didn't have any surprises. We threatened severe bodily injury to no avail. lol
