If you need to add an extra day to your trip in order to make the pace tolerable, do it. We'll all survive a whole extra day without ordering.

I was stationed in Memphis for like 20 months. Good times can be had!
If you feel you can work a break into your trip, be sure to check out Overton Square in downtown Memphis. It's a big strip of bars with everything from Barbecue pits and a German beer garden to sports & country style bars, and even a Hard Rock café.
At least that's how it was 30 years ago.

Hang in there Deej .. when it's all over, you will laugh ... no, really, you will. I swear! Trust me! Just remind yourself it could be worse ... I drove to Alaska from Wisconsin with 4 teenagers in the car. Trust me, it can be worse. I'm surprised I survived (or surprised they did)
Take that extra day if you need it, spend some time just kickin' back and not stressing. Upgrade your hotel to a jacuzzi suite and relax! (Boy would that feel good!)

Arrived @ the hotel in Memphis about 30 minutes ago.
Here's the fun that's taken place so far:
Arrived in Albuquerque after 3 am... left @ noon. Went to Panda Express for lunch.
At a fuel stop in Amarillo, managed to clip one of those concrete posts that protects the gas pumps. Actually, clipped it with the tow dolly carrying my car. Bent the tow dolly. U-Haul dispatched a mechanic and we managed to get it back in working condition. Lost about an hour... no big. The fun bit about that was the redneck engineering he and I came up with to get a wheel-well structural member bent back into position.
Arrived in OKC after 3... they had already cancelled our reservation and charged us for it. The guy at the desk didn't re-charge us, so that was cool.
Coming in to Memphis, we were in a construction zone... 1 lane... barrels on 1 side, k-rail on the other. We hit an interchange and there was a tractor-trailer that entered the connector to merge into the lane we were. He hit it way too hot and we came about 4 inches from getting smashed into the k-rail. I'm better than 99% positive the front tire bounced off the concrete.
We finally arrived at the hotel in Memphis about an hour later (10pm) and the pizza has just been delivered.
