I was playing a game I bought for $3.05 during the Steam summer sale called Symphony today. It is a game where it takes your song library and uses it in a "ship shooting/dodging" type of game.

<...>

Anyway I was playing it and saw Deej's album in my playlist. So I decided to play some of the songs. The song "I Will Fly" was the hardest song I have played in the game so far and I was playing upbeat techno and metal. Just thought I would share and say again that I like your music Deej. Watching the enemies dance to the songs just adds to the enjoyment. :)

How cool is that!! I loves the Steam Summer Sale! :)

(not as much as a Deej sale, but, hey, it's close!)

Trav, I apologize to your TV watching site. It was not the source of my virus.

That virus had been very easy to clean up and there are a bunch of things I want to watch so I did a test. I did a full scan. No infections. I then ran the same episode of Sherlock and did another complete scan. Six and a half hours into that, still no virus. :)

i need some new stuff to watch...

I enjoyed "Lie to me" and "Alphas", and "Warehouse 13" I got lost somewhere in the second or 3rd season of "Fringe", and can't remember where i left off. I got into "Arrow" for a little while, but it went downhill halfway through the first (and only) season. Recently, I've been watching "Touch"(with Kiefer Sutherland).

so, what recommendations do you have for stuff to to watch while vaping deejstuff?

Broadchurch. It's gut-wrenching (about the investigation of the murder of a young boy) and brilliant. Fox is doing an American version this year (not unusual) starring David Tennant who also starred in the British version (unusual.)

My favorite current series is Elementary. My sister recommended Perception to me. I liked it but had to give it up for being too House-lite.

Arrow's finished it's 2nd season. I didn't think it was too bad myself.

I've been watching things like The 100, Once Upon a Time, Revenge, Zero Hour, Grimm, Continuum, The Event, The Following, Resurrection, Gang Related, and Cosmos.

Lots of them are in season hiatus, but Syfy has just started season 2 of Defiance and a brand new one called Dominion about what's left of the world after a war with the archangels (Hunger Game-ish) and their impending threat for a final strike to wipeout mankind.

Zero Hour and The Event are both worldwide conspiracies. Event involving superior aliens living among us and Zero Hour being a DaVinci Code type conspiracy regarding a biblical weapon / power being sought from the time of the Nazis through today. Though I think the latter was never meant to be more than one season. It all ties up pretty cleanly.

For "filler" I use stuff with lots of seasons / episodes like House, Leverage, & Burn Notice, and watch / rewatch them here & there.

Currently rewatching past seasons of Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad.

I'm so far out of the loop that hiatus doesn't matter ;)

I also don't have cable so am limited to amazon and netflix. Neither have Poeia's reccomendations available to stream. I'll check for your recommendations next Trav. I like Once and Continuum, Grimm not so much.

thanks for the recommendations!

I don't have cable either. many of the newer ones I watch right on the show's website. Though some require a cable provider password which I sort of borrowed.

Many I've listed are on Netflix, just not the latest season. I know The Event is on there, Along with Leverage & Burn Notice.

Another good one on Netflix (though only 2 seasons) is Jericho. It's sort of like a Walking Dead-ish survival type aspect mixed with a big government conspiracy all in a post nuclear apocalypse setting.

We are currently finishing up some Eureka on Amazon.... It's not on anymore, but they have 5 seasons and it amuses the heck out of us lol.

I want to ditch cable ... they have raised prices twice in the past 3 months and I already thought I was paying more than it was worth!

That said however, CES if you are able you might want to check out 'The Bridge' and/or 'Longmire' ... I think they are pretty good myself but I've only caught a few of the episodes. :)

To make the transition easier and reduce withdrawals, my personally recommended "Cut the Cable Kit" Would include the following:

Roku Box: - $80-$100 one time.
Stream 1,000+ channels of movies, TV shows, sports, and more to any HDTV. Plug headphones into the motion-control remote to play games or watch late-night flicks without disturbing the household. Fully loaded with one-stop search, 1080p, dual-band wireless, Ethernet and USB.
Tons of Apps / Channels with movies, sports, news, weather, music (and music videos) etc. Many TV networks have their own Roku apps, some let you watch latest episodes for free.

There's also hundreds of special interest type channels /apps including things like religion, cooking, exercise, home first aid, arts & crafts, politics, and lots pertaining to particular movie genres / eras.

Hulu Plus $7.99 per month.
Hulu takes care of most needs regarding recent TV. It has most all major TV networks covered. It has pretty much anything that airs on TV / cable available for streaming the next day. It generally keeps the last 5 or more episodes available as well. Some shows have many more episodes available up to and including the entire series. Hulu also has it's own selection of Movies, documentaries, and also airs many "TV Specials", it also has some original programming that's not too bad.

Netflix $7.99 per month.
We all know & love Netflix. Good selection of movies and lots of TV series. I consider this my "TV Archive" for when I want to catch up on a TV series I haven't seen before, being how they always keep the entire series available. Or if I feel like re-watching a full series. Also has some great original programming with more on the way.

Amazon Prime(optional) $99 per year.
Personally I would NOT recommend Amazon Prime unless you're also taking full advantage / in need of the free 2 day shipping. Most of the free (with prime) programming on Amazon can be found between the 2 services listed above or by other means.

If money's an issue and you "need" Amazon prime, I'd sub it for one of the above depending on your needs. However, even if you did do all of the above, it would still be much cheaper than most cable bills if broken down to a per month basis.

Also, you'd probably be surprised how much can be found that's streamable for free from the internet. Convenient if you have a PC or laptop connected to your TV. For example, my preferred local TV station has the 3-4 most recent local news reports available for free online 24-7. So whenever I get up, I can watch the 8 & 9am morning news broadcasts regardless of what time it actually is.

I tried Amazon for 1 year and let it lapse. But with just the above I'm never at a loss for things to watch. In fact I'd say your viewing habits tend to adapt to what you have available. So why pay for a bunch of crap, shoveled at you by the cable company, you're not watching anyway?

All you need s a good reliable semi-fast internet. For reliable streaming without a bunch of buffering, I'd recommend a minimum of 10Mbps. In fact you'd be hard pressed to find a slower service even being offered these days. Most places you'd probably have to ask for it.
