Also make sure that in your view options (in pictures folder under tools>folder options>view in Win7) "Always show icons, not thumbnails" is unchecked. If not uncheck it and remember to hit apply.

This afternoon Dad had me open a folder, open Windows Photo viewer then arrow
through all the pictures. Then he said "go back to the yellow" (meaning up one level to the folders.)
He named another folder and had me do it again. And again.
The process is not helped by the fact that he has that gargle-y, old man voice, doesn't have the voice power to project and doesn't like to make the effort to pronounce things distinctly. My sister and I understand him better than most people do which is to say "hardly at all."
I thought he was trying to learn how to view the pictures but, by the time he had me open the 7th or 8th folder, I said "why are we doing this? They all work exactly the same way." He said "I'm looking for a picture." Me: "Which one?" Dad: "I haven't seen it yet."
That's an hour of my life I'll never get back.
