I'd definitely stay away from the rooting. I've considered it for both my phone and tablet, but usually end up thinking they're good enough just the way they are.

You don't have to be able to do everything, just because it's out there. I'd probably first just learn and get used to everything it can do stock. The model you have is pretty nice and powerful so I doubt you'll be disappointed. It's got movies, email, web, ebooks, and much more in a nice size package with a fast processor, excellent graphics, and plenty of RAM.

My Samsung Galaxy Tablet is 7" and I agree with you, it's a nice size for it's purposes. But most often just sits and collects dust though since I'm mostly at home now. It was one of those things I just had to have, until I got it.

I'm bypassing a laptop in this process. My computer is a desktop so that limited me to the living room only. Now I can put Poeia to bed and watch one more thing before going to sleep myself and I can watch all my HitBliss stuff on the train, etc.

We have 32 this morning with about a half inch of snow/sleet out there. Snow on the garage roof has finally started to slide and the back sheds have slid more. Roofs should be snowless by the end of the day or at least by tomorrow.
